General Wolves News

Seems a solid guess, that.

so around 450 ST's will become available. That's not a lot...

Right, enough of the kit shit.

There's new catering at Molineux this season. A few fans were invited to try out the new grub last night:

Hugely disappointed by 100% cashless. Means I won’t ever be buying any of it. I take a strict CASH budget on a match day and have no intention of using a card anywhere as it is an easy step to fucking the household finances by accidental overspend. There should be a limited cash option or custom will be lost. Shit decision

As I said when this was mentioned around 3 months ago, Wolves need to launch a pre-paid Card that can be used inside the ground (like other venues do). That way, you get paid, whack £10 on it and know its on there for the next time you feel like a disapointing Burger or getting your lips around Mom's Bad Boy Hotdog without worrying about an overspend.

Elephant PJ's is on the FP so certainly something he could raise whenever the next meeting is if Wolves currently have no plans for one.

I understand why they have gone cashless. If the staff are like previous seasons it takes 45 seconds for them to grasp what change is required after someone has spent £5 and given them a £10 note. Also speeds up the service as you have no half drunk nobbers stood in front of you trying to find the final 20p he needs and he was about 15 pockets to search as its contactless and you can will have paid before they bring you the delights from the menu

I don't want £10 sat on a pre-payment card and not in the budget either - that money is dead from the budget as I can't get it back. I want to pay cash out of the budget I have for the day IN CASH.

So they won't get a penny from me without a cash till available.

It's the same company doing the new Spurs ground, so cashless wasn't a huge surprise. Agreed that there should be an option to load cash on to a member card/season ticket card. Very easy to implement.

£10 was just a random figure. If you buy something inside Molineux most games it isnt dead cash is it. You will know the prices of things, so before leaving for a match upload the money onto the card..take your cash out, minus what you are planning to eat and its job done.

Or for the easier less stressful option, have a Mr Tikka or a rat burger from Mr Sizzle. Wolves will get their ££ from you another way.

I took it to mean that the stadium was 100% contactless-compatible, rather than cash not being allowed any more.

Considering they talk about all-new tills elsewhere in the quote, which are surely pointless without cash being allowed, I wouldn't worry too much.

They haven't gone cashless have they mate? 100% contactless, but they've installed more tills. Why would they need new tills if it was cashless?
The contactless is to increase speed of payments I assume.
This could save you visiting those salmonella vans every week!

great minds and that fella!

That doesn't help people on a tight tight family budget. I take a set amount of cash on the day, and any change goes back into the family finances. Sat on a pre-payment card it doesn't. Any contactless payment on top of the cash I take is extra leakage from the family finances as well.

It's an abomination of a decision and I am really pissed off about it.

Wolves have talked about going cashless before so thats why I am presuming 100% contactless means thats the only way to pay (pretty sure all the tills had contactless options last season)

Sign of the times now, cash is being used less and less, with the development of contactless payment more and more younger people don't carry any cash at all nowadays.

I rarely use cash myself any more. I accept it might be a bit early to not offer the option to pay in cash at the moment but it will be a common thing in the not too distant future.

Yeah, I only really use cash in pubs now (and I needn't really, just force of habit more than anything, plus a back up if you go to the bar and their machines are playing up).

Mind you I don't find it too hard to go two hours without eating or having a pint...

I use cash on matchdays in the pub. Easier to track what I am spending on my Pop Zero or if I am treating myself to a £6 pint or 5 in the RL.

When my bank finally catches up with things and adds itself to Samsung Pay I might change (I could use Googlepay but I don't want to)

Was in London at the weekend. Got a funny look every time I tried to pay for a pint with cash. Last year I paid for a meal in a restaurant with cash, and the girl serving me had to have someone show her how to take a cash payment...
