General Wolves News

It's not as good as the Billy or Stan statues but his family approved it so those closest to him like it and that is that really (Apparently they were heavily involved and had a lot of changes made during the process)

at the risk of being accused of moaning, you would not have recognised the person if it had not been Wolves related. It seems a lot of statues don't get the faces correct - never understood why.

I'd imagine that it is a difficult skill to master and a niche business to be in once you have mastered it. Having the chance to be taught such a skill must be tricky too. I can't see any of the local Tec colleges offering courses in it.

Looks like a younger version of the white-haired old chap we're used to seeing pictures of. It's fine.

Hey, at least it's not like this one.

It looks fuck all like him! It looks like a statue of my old geography teacher whenever somebody made a joke about rocks

Sorry but that's absolutely dreadful. :icon_lol:

Does look a bit like a generic old bloke.

Ultimately having a statue at all is the main thing.

The quality looks consistent with the BW and SC statues, the likeness not so much.

Thought it might just be the angle, but no, it's just not very good!

making the hair darker than the face makes it look weird. if its all the same colour as the hair , then i think it would look ok

I think it's because he's not wearing specs that some can't see the likeness.

It’s very disappointing. It doesn’t look a lot like him & the way the statue is standing - it looks a bit... I dunno, ‘camp’. Which of course, there’s nothing wrong with - but it just makes the whole thing a little weird :icon_lol:

Ultimately the most important thing is he’s been shown the respect of a statue which is fully deserved. It’s not great, though.

The different color tones make it look cheaper than it is, and there's something off about the proportion of the head to the body for me - it's not just the likeness of the face (although I've seen pics from other angles where it doesn't look quite as bad), it's that it looks like a bunch of slightly different scaled statues stuck together. The different tones accentuate those differences to my eye.

Not a fan I'm afraid, but then after watching the Bleacher Report documentary with the guy who made the Ronaldo statue, I'm not going to take it too seriously. It won't take long until most of the people who remember him will also be dead, and then it'll be just another statue, benefiting from the passing of time and the distance from truth that that brings.

Never knew Neil Sedaka(ask your grandparents, kids they'll know) was linked to the wolves, but we've unveiled a statue of him for some reason
