Note how Farage wasn't there. As an MP he isn't allowed to hold events in the constituency of another MP without prior arrangement with that MP, and I bet he knew that 500 yards out was Rayner's constituency. Anderson is just thick enough not to notice Farage getting pulled up on that recently.

I dont think thats the case during an election campaign though - otherwise the incumbent could just veto every other party from doing anything.

There are no MPs in an election campaign as parliament has been dissolved.

In a by-election, however, there are MPs still next door as it were
