Irene J Davidson is Reform Uk’s candidate for Blundellsands Ward, Sefton, Liverpool in the 19th June by-election.

She thinks that anybody arriving here in a small boat should be tattooed on arrival.

Unsurprisingly her vile, bigoted X ( this view is actually quite mild)) account has mysteriously disappeared.

Maybe load them into cattle trucks to camps with a sign saying "Work Makes You Free"?

Remember this is a man who avoided getting into trouble in the past because a judge literally said he was too stupid to understand what exactly he was doing.

Hopefully over the next 3 years they’ll either fuck up or the nation will come to it’s senses, not overly confident on the latter.

How are they finding the 250+ credible people who might get elected as MPs?

Because they have 4 right now.

And who would go into coalition with them assuming they didn't win outright, which they won't?
 
There’s four years left yet, newly elected councillors are quitting, Kent council which they won with a majority has cancelled all council meetings for June so no action is being taken on anything, from the important stuff of schools, adult care down to the small stuff of planning extensions for conservatory’s, no reason given, it’s just stopped, non of the other councils they’ve won are doing anything either.

Lincolnshire mayor has for some reason gone quiet, when you couldn’t shut her up before the election, she was at the Lincolnshire show looking at tractors, no interviews no meeting the people.

East Yorkshire and hull mayor hasn’t been seen since he moaned on social media the previous mayor stripped the office bare and took everything ( they’re never been an East Yorkshire mayor before reform) no meetings, no social media, or media of any sort, when asked he’s apparently in meetings but for what who knows?

Membership is down about 15,000.

Getting elected in the last round of elections could be the worst thing that’s happened to them, people will be able to see how they’ve got literally nothing beyond stop the boats ( last week I think we had a week of no crossings and not a single person illegally entering) and racism ( the burqa comments didn’t get them the right publicity) they can’t govern, don’t like media scrutiny, and are a shambles behind the scenes with all the infighting

They might manage to crawl to the next election as reform, but they’ll probably have a rebrand and all new slogans like stop the boats

Why do they need to be credible? Farage isn't credible, Boris wasn't, Truss wasn't, Trump isn't, you don't need to be "credible" to get support.

People who will vote for Reform don't need credibility, and what is credible to you and me certainly isn't to the type of person who votes for Reform.
 
They also need a certain number of safe seats so they can parachute people into the Commons. They don't have that.

Much as he is a slob and a decaying haystack with zero moral compass and a bumbling fool for 99.99% of his existence, I would say that Boris was actually far more credible than every single Reform candidate bar Anderson and Farage. Even Truss was credible AS AN MP. She very quickly was shown to be out of her depth any higher, but she was a credible parliamentary candidate at the time.

Reform have a core support of people who love them and can see no wrong in them. To those unfortunates, credibility is, as you say, less than relevant. However, if you want power you need to convince everyone else. And you need money to put the candidates up if you can find them, and to campaign.

And, the number of gaffes and bad histories from Reform candidates isn't by accident. There are a lot of skeletons in closets that get exposed during a candidacy. And they have no pool of talent, and equally no filter to avoid these types being on the ballot papers.
 
I know loads of people who voted Reform because the Tories were fucking useless and were accepting of the fact they were getting booted out, and preferred to send a message to the incoming Labour the groundswell desire was to stop the boats, whereas a Labour vote would’ve been seen as an endorsement to wave them across faster.

I can’t imagine any of those would seriously vote Reform (actually, maybe one, possibly two to be fair) in an election if there was a real chance of them winning.

I could say the same about some I know who voted Green. They want some strong pro-environmental messaging to be sent but would freak out at the thought of an actual government insisting we all walked everywhere in biodegradable sandals.

Reform will still gather momentum yet but as far as forming a government goes, no chance.

Absolute horseshit, they might have said that but they actually voted reform as they think that there are too many black, brown and funny accented people around.

Oh, if that’s the same as people thinking rapid, seemingly out of control immigration can have negative consequences and needs dealing with then you are probably right.
 
It’s always some flavour of the same thing, immigration has never been ‘out of control’ - it was high as it is the only way previous governments have found to grow the economy.

Older people don’t like change and they do like to have a convenient scapegoat, Trump and Farage play on this.
 
I think there's a bit of naivity at how strongly Reform are supported, probably because of our own echo chambers.

They don't need "credible MPs" they just need votes, and every time there is a news story about "small boats" or a video of a brown person doing something bad, their support grows. Being racist, xenophobic or just outright cunty isn't as unpopular as it used to be.
