[FA Cup 3rd Rnd] Liverpool 2-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

As disappointed as I am I don't mind the disallowed goal, the linesman gave it, Sheff Wed scored one that was off today and without VAR it stood, much better imo.

My abiding thought after watching that is how much I hate Bruno Lage and all those who enabled that idiot to be our manager for so long. Thank god we have someone competent in charge now

Also tonight what was noticeable was no matter whether we were 1-0, 1-1 or 2-1 down, nothing really changed - we stuck to our game and we haven’t done that since Nuno. There was no panic.

The switch to a back three was much smoother tonight too and the substitutions didn’t disrupt the game or game plan whatsoever.

If the linesman can see through 18 players to see that Nunes was off side receiving the ball back from the Hwang header then I’m a Glaswegian.
Wouldn't need to see through players if he's made the correct decision, he'll have an open passage to look through and see Nunes as the most advanced player on the far side. Be interesting to see if any other camera angles do appear.

Do what football does here: put cameras at the base of the corner flags (we put them in the pylons, so similar at least).

No, it wouldn't perfectly clear up today's offside decision, but at least we'd actually be able to see Matheus. Like, at all.

Or make the assistants wear body cams. Something.

If they know that there are “blind spots” VAR surely shouldn’t be in use for any decisions. Scrap it off.
Does seem odd to attempt to use it if you know there are gaps in the coverage, unless it's a broken camera creating the gap then you wouldn't know until it's too late.

The bloke never sits down and is constantly barking. It’s wonderful to see.
Ha, I was whinging about Arteta spending most of the game virtually on the pitch, I’m gonna have to take it back now.

Who'd have thought they'd need a camera looking directly along less than 12 yards from the goal line?!!

Salad was clearly offside when Robertson crossed. How VAR couldn’t see it !!
Thought Nunes looked the player we expected him to be, even Guedes had a decent game. 2 defensive errors gifted their goals but overall thought we played well. Thought Raul is a yard too slow now and Cunha didn’t impress me.

It's obviously a camera issue rather than there not being one there

Thought we were going to get hammered, proud of that performance from the team. our keeper had far less to do than theirs which says it all. Sum up the game in one word? Robbed. Only negative, if a big club doesn`t come in for Ruben after watching that then they need to look at their scouting team.

I didn't think Nunes was that great tbh. Often turned into blind channels centrally and gave the ball away a couple of times.

Feel sorry for you if you can’t see how good he is.

Why the fuck did the linesman flag anyway, theyre only supposed to give the most obvious of obvious decisions
