Ex-Wolf Watch

Don't have a problem with Kilman personally, cost us fuck all, played as well as he's capable of doing for us, didn't seem a wanker and we got a good fee for him?
I had a massive problem with him as maybe it's just me, but I cannot abide shite footballers wearing the shirt of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He was slow, he was weak, he was crap in the air, he was incredibly passive, he was shite on the ball, he was a dreadful captain and he effectively directly replaced Willy Boly which is akin to Seyi George Olofinjana directly replacing Alex Rae.

I’ve not got a problem with him. Very grateful we mugged WH though.

£40m was the fee, something in that neighborhood?

What the fuck do scouts watch

Lopetegui felt guilty and wanted to give us something back
I know he at least influenced the transfer, but still. Surely someone at West Ham could see what we did (and Max seems to have regressed even from that). I don’t think I’ve ever seen another defender at this level who is as consistently 2 yards away from where they should be at effectively all times.

Influenced? He pushed them to meet our valuation.
Scouting was not involved or needed.

They were seemingly ready to walk away and he got his stroppy pants out of storage.

Now ask the dude added to Nuno's coaching team a few months ago about Max and he will give the professional version of what Deutsch says about him

Involved, perhaps not; needed, abso-fucking-lutely it was. Seems Gwen Stefani bananas to me to ever take scouts out of the recruitment equation.

Their problem now, thank Christ (or your local equivalent).

I feel like that's probably part of it. I seem to remember his underlying defensive numbers were quite good? I wonder how many of his very obvious mistakes, those down to his herculean passivity, actually show up on the stat sheet. If you watched more than a handful of games you saw the pattern. A cautionary tale.

The comments about us being bitter we’d sold him when we pointed out his many shortcomings haven’t aged well!
I got a load of abuse and saying I was jealous that West Ham had bought him on the West Ham forum, when I posted just after theyd got him and Julen, that theyd be booing either one or both before Christmas, when I went back to gloat about being right at the start of December, they were booing Kilman and wanting Julen sacked

I’m very much a stats girlie, but any scout who only goes on numbers should be sacked immediately. Obviously that doesn’t tend to work in reality, but you get my meaning.
