Ex-Wolf Watch

Decided to check on how he's doing at Dortmund.

21 apps 1 goal 2 assists.

Which is the worse transfer? Us spending £35M+ on him as an 18 year old or Dortmund spending £20M+ on him with 1 year left on his contract and already knowing that he's shit and a wanker.
I'd actually say the latter.

With us:

1) At least you had his youth record, which was good (but doesn't necessarily mean anything, go back nearly 40 years and Colin Taylor was rocketing in 50+ goals a year at youth level, he was shit)

2) We were in hock to Jorge after he'd given us players we had no right to get. This was the quid pro quo we all knew was in the post (if you were paying attention)

With them, it was just various underwhelming loans and he'd gone four years without scoring a league goal for Wolves. I have no idea what possessed them, I wouldn't pay £2m for him.

Fer Lopez could easily go down as one of our worst ever signings depending on what we recoup for him when he eventually leaves on a permanent, if we get nothing or a minimal fee it's right up there when you consider we gave Celta Vigo 21m for him and then lent him back to them for no fee a few months later. No surprise but absolutely shocking business.

I’m no great defender of Fer, but at least he’d shown out in a top flight.

If we're talking awful business, how about loaning Adama to Barcelona for no fee and a pinky promise they'd buy him in the summer, just because he said he'd quite like to go, when our season was still very much live, he was actually contributing and we didn't replace him (Chiquinho does not count).

Still winds me up.

Poor old Bruno got done over there...ruined his Wolves legacy IMO.

Adama diddled as well as he went on basic wages with that pinky promise to pay him back dated wages when they signed him in the summer.

Also mad that Spurs tried in both windows to sign him but wouldn't pay the figure we wanted. Both times that was a difference of £5m

Pretty sure Spurs also wanted him to play RWB.

Football sometimes, honestly.

They kinda ended up with their own Adama in Bergwijn.

We will get money back for him I have no doubt. He has ability and has shown that in flashes and has actually done something in a decent league Alan says.

Fabio has always looked dreadful

Problem is we're over a barrel. We need to recoup anything we can this summer as our income falls off a cliff. Spanish clubs outwith the top three have fuck all money. We know he wants to go. We know he is never going to make it in English football and was never going to make it in English football.

We're going to get ridiculously lowballed, no matter how talented he is (I don't think he is very talented).

A ridiculous signing.

Yeah but he spent time in Norfolk, therefore suitable for the PL.

Has to be another reason he has failed

Sevilla paid solid money for Rafa Mir…

His wages won’t be huge and that’s normally the biggest block (Guedes for example, can’t get a fee for him when he’s got to take a £4m+ per year pay cut).

Probably get a years amortisation plus wages cover for him next year and then we can see where he and we are at. If he turns out to be shit we’re In trouble but if he’s any good we get our money back (or he comes back…)
