Ex-Wolf Watch

Just joined training again but I’ll be surprised if he plays as high as league 1 again
It was brief (and we were a dreadful team so anyone with a bit of flair would have stood out) but his hit rate in terms of goals/assists when he played in 2015/16 was crazy. Like 2006/07 Kightly levels.

Really good footballer but didn't get any luck (and made that bad call to say no to Nuno, he absolutely could have played that role, you didn't have to defend)

It's just so binary, anything could have happened in those games with another player on the pitch for good or bad. What if in the Cup semi another wing back maybe comes out and presses for their first goal rather than standing nowhere behind the centre half and we make the final? The following season we make Europe again because this other player isn't waving his arms around in the last minute against Burnley. Equally binary, equally reductive.
Yeah, we have a great track record at avoiding reductive binaries here on TWF.

The cup semi where he got an assist and scored?

FUCKING HELL THE REGULAR RETURNS TO THIS SAME FUCKING ARGUMENT MAKE THIS PLACE UNREADABLE AND PUT OFF USERS

Ignore Thread Cop.

I think it's fair enough to have a retrospective on a player who has been here on and off for 15+ years and the fact EP and I disagree isn't a problem (he actually does agree that he was a disgrace pre-2017 anyway)

I just think the point is you two have retrenched positions on the matter, which isn't going to ever change on either part, so we can refer to the older arguments about it to get all read up on l'affaire Doc without a sequel

The year is 2046, and the name Doherty rings out on the forums…

I'm still talking about Mark Rankine's sham of a Player of the Year Award and that was 31 years ago, so you're going to need to extend that timeframe

I’m trying to account for EP’s normal memory you hippocampus paragon

God, to have watched that live.

Wish I could have seen more of SEB. Alas, quickly became one of my favorites from that time (not a lot of amazing options, granted).

Would be fun to have another “Blah Blah Blah is Wanderers’ numbah nine”, one of the only chants I genuinely flip shit (complimentary) for.

Our #9s since squad numbers were introduced at Championship level in 1999 (which neatly dovetails with the post-Bully era) are er, a mixed bag:

Havard Flo
Temuri Ketsbaia
Adam Proudlock
Nathan Blake
Vio Ganea
Carl Cort
Andy Keogh
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake
Leigh Griffiths
Leon Clarke
Nouha Dicko
Rafa Mir
Raul Jimenez
Fabio Silva
Jorgen Strand Larsen
Adam Armstrong

Cort and Dicko were good players for us but were ruined by the time they got the #9

Leon is the worst player on there, Mir the worst specimen

Wasn’t our Portuguese generational talent given the No. 9 shirt at one point?
Not that he improves this list. At all.

You know, I've blanked him from my mind. Added (and he's down in the bottom quarter easily)

Decided to check on how he's doing at Dortmund.

21 apps 1 goal 2 assists.

Which is the worse transfer? Us spending £35M+ on him as an 18 year old or Dortmund spending £20M+ on him with 1 year left on his contract and already knowing that he's shit and a wanker.
