Ex-Wolf Watch

Aye, definitely a big purchase for someone who's been out of work since the summer and seems unlikely to play at a decent level ever again

Agreed. Was my first thought too.

However, he's earned around 1million a year for a number of years? If he's invested that wisely he could/should be living off the returns,

But 300k purchases (assuming they're that much?) seems brave/stupid!

Former Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell has been appointed by the English FA in a top position.

The ex-Wolves, Derby, Preston, Everton and New York Red Bulls chief has been named as the FA's Elite Coach Developer.

Here, Thelwell's main tasks will be 'supporting the progression of elite home-grown coaches'.

Thelwell’s strategic role at St. George’s Park will span both women’s and men’s football, reporting into Dan Ashworth, the chief football officer at the national football centre.

Obviously talented and very very sad that he passed away so young, but his Wolves career was absolutely nothing special at all.

94/95 - only joined for the last 2 months and played some of those games at RB

95/96 - excellent for half a season in an awful team, the worst pound for pound we'd had in a decade. Then got injured and didn't play after late January

96/97 - Shocking early on, error after error in our dreadful start at home which cost us promotion. Picked up a bit, scored against Albion (joining Rob Hindmarch in that select club), got injured and didn't play after mid-January

97/98 - Didn't play until Boxing Day, then was alright (no more) for the rest of the season. Part complicit in Wreh's goal in the semi final

98/99 - Just an average, 6.5-7/10 season for a team which failed to make the playoffs

Left on a free.
