I actually did hate Lage nearly as much as Saunders in fairness, how can you play like that with those players FFS. Almost as much of a wanker as well.

The road to league 1 started in the summer of 2011, hindsight is great and a lot would argue MM had earnt another go at a PL season. However they hung onto far too long and we all knew he was done come autumn of that season. No clear plan to succeed him and then went for Solbakken after relegation who simply was the wrong man at the wrong time.
What you don’t do is replace him mid season when the clubs toxic and in a mess with a bloke who’s cv involves managing at Erexhsm and Doncaster and who is a fucking moronic idiot.

He didn’t make us worse, he just completed the job Solbakken started by not making us much better. Those Ipswich and Peterborough performances before he got sacked were as bad as we've ever been at that level with the possible exception of the end of Docherty. Saunders gets all the shit because he's an arsehole. Solbakken as a manager was as bad, but gets something of a pass for reasons unknown, we'd have gone down with even less points if he'd stayed. In a field that includes Mcghee and Lage, he's the worst man manager we've ever had

I disagree that Solbakken was worse, he made loads of mistakes no doubt but has had a career since, Saunders was shit before he came here, shit when he was here and shit after he left.
