He definitely went to Spurs too soon (and, you know, a poisonous club) so I'm glad he's found somewhere to flourish who love him as much as he was loved here.

Always said back then he should have gone to Palace - he'd have done well rebuilding them with their youth players.

Just read in the Athletic that Trincao's loan to Sporting last summer was for €3m and to make it permanent is another €7m on top (which they're very likely to take up). Even despite my many reservations about him, if that had been the deal on offer to us, I might have taken it, it's not much in the grand scheme of things at PL level. Certainly better than paying 3x that for Guedshit.

However we negotiated a stupid fee that we were only ever going to pay if he had a huge immediate impact, which was equally never likely to happen given what we know about him as a player.

Turns out not his final game as Bala, despite getting a twatting today, have qualified for the Euro Play Offs Semi Final and have a chance of getting back into Europe.
