Ex-Wolf Watch

Like Coady it was probably time to move away from Saiss. His form after he came back from ACON in his final season was erratic at best and he was already 32. We know that was exacerbated by Lage being a prick and playing on against Leeds where - I at least - think he had a concussion.

What sticks in the craw is the way their departures were handled.

Similar to where we are now with our forwards, the issue with the loss of our 3 centre halves wasn't the problem, it was the failure to replace them

I think the only departure you could point to as a mistake is Boly, he'd still be our best centre half if he was with us today.

It may have been time to move on from those players but to let go/force out all 3 at once was stupid given we didn't replace any of their experience and quality.

It's reliability with Boly these days, only started 23 league games since he left us after 10 starts in his final season here. That's a lot of football missed.

Of course he wouldn't have left if Lage weren't a prick.

Collins (x2) and Bödvarsson both on target for Bolton today.

Not an ex-Wolf. Not yet anyway...

I remember Böd looking useful at first, if not particularly goal dangerous. Shame he never really kicked on.

He was a real trier (and Lambert ran him into the ground when he was clearly spent and needed a break) but his career goalscoring record doesn't lie.

Pretty sure we got most or all of our money back for him off Reading who also inexplicably gave us more money for a finished Dave Edwards than we paid nearly 10 years previously.

Few bits in here about how Benik Afobe was rated massively, massively higher than Harry Kane when they were kids in the same set up.
