Everton 1-1 Wolves - verdict thread

Thought we were poor first half, created nothing. Bit unfortunate on the goal but it’s a poor defensive header and easy 2nd ball for them.

Much better 2nd half. Good goal. Some positives there for rest of season. Would’ve been another win if wasn’t for top save by Pickford at end

One good move all game. I know we were on top in the second half but we were still shit and created fuck all. The pass is always a yard or two behind where it needs to be, and the running off the ball is pathetic, and when it does come the vision isn't there.

At least they’re playing with a bit of spirit but with Hwang delivering his typical non-performance and Tchatchoua awful even by his normal dreadful standards a point is all we could hope for. Shame Pickford produced a worldie to stop Hugo’s shot. Everton are a horrible team, niggly fouls and thuggish behaviour is standard from them.

Overall, much better than how it’s been. Maybe it’s the Manè factor that’s made a difference.

We’ve just got shit players that aren’t up to the required standard. We’re always going to fall short when you’ve got Jackson attempting to cross a ball - honestly - where the fuck did we find him from?

Tonight showed that one decent player/moment of magic can win or save games. Up till the goal we were gash.

That’s a big part of the difference from last season - Cunha was doing that regularly for us last year.

Jackson Tchatchoua is so fucking bad. We need to find a way to get him out of the team. Hwang as well.

Overall I thought that was a really poor performance against an Everton team who really weren't at it and then got very weird at the end. Some signs of improvement though, Mané is someone to be genuinely excited about and there were brief periods where we actually exerted a bit of pressure.

Edwards job is to take us down with dignity and beat the Derby record. These last three games are the first time that's looked possible and that in itself is a feat. Going in the right direction.

It's just nice to be excited at the end of a game tbh.

Also, thank the gods for Mane.

Also also, we need a right back very badly. Jackson's a Sunday league player.

I saw us plummet from the first to the fourth division and though my memory is fading I don’t recall any player of that era being as limited Tchatchoua.
Nothing wrong with your memory. If he`s not looking for a right back, then play Lima. Least the lad`s got guts.

Elokobi was just as bad technically but always had a bit of heart.

Jérémy Hélan had the same shocking touch, lack of attacking intent and fondness for dribbling straight out of play. Added 'balance' though.

Saved Matt Doherty’s career too
