Earworms

Sweet Talking Woman - ELO
Cant stop singing it today. Driving Mrs HW mad.

Pretty sure JO & WWB were both from Aylesbury. My sister and a load of 6th formers went to see them at Friars in about 1978.

I recall them coming back with those cheap 70’s-tastic badges, orange with black writing which actually said “Wouldn’t it be great to sleep with Wild Willy Barrett”

Bloody sure I kept that in a jar with a load of other 70’s badges for decades but no idea where they are now.

Mind you, whilst a rare thing, with that sort of wording it’s probably about as desirable as a Jim’ll Fix It one.

Due to the radio coverage in Munich today being accompanied by Yes Sir I can Boogie, I've not been able to get rid of it.

For some unknown reason; The Dance of the Knights from Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet...

10cc - I'm Mandy, fly me.
Heard it more times in the last two weeks (in my head), than in the previous 50 years. No obvious reason.

Just heard this in Tesco. I haven't heard the track for over 50 years but knew what it was immediately!

What's that tune that keeps playing in my head?
I don't think I like it.
I haven't heard it in years.
I'm absolutely certain I dislike it.
It's decades since I heard it.
Who the hell is it?
I really hate it.
Oh shit!

And that is how Peters and Lee's Welcome Home has been stuck in my head for two long weeks.

On an advert at the moment, that's what'll do it.

Though Light Years and Fever (her two albums from the late 90s/early 00s) are very much still worth a listen.

In fact Impossible Princess from before that is as well.
