Crusaders (A) 2nd Leg Build up and Matchday Thread

Are Cutrone and Valleja eligible to play as they weren't signed for the first leg? Have to say I'm not an expert on Europe Lg eligibility rules, but would be a shame to chucked out of Europe on a technicality after 40 years...

Wolves put Vallejo could make his debut on Thursday so I guess they are good to go.

Presume the proper rules dont kick in until the Group stages where you name your squad for the Euro games then that's that (until January when you can change them)

Obviously the club will know the rules and regs inside out. Fairly sure with the FA Cup though that you can't play in a reply if you weren't signed for the original game. Wondered if Europa Lg was the same with it being essentially one tie over two legs

That was my thoughts on it last week but it looks like during the Quali Rounds things are a bit more relaxed

Although reading the UEFA Rule book I am not so sure

40VII – Player Registration
List A has to be submitted online by the following fixed deadlines:
a. 20 June 2019 (24.00CET) for all matches in the preliminary round;
b. 5 July 2019 (24.00CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
c. 19 July 2019 (24.00CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;
d. 2 August 2019 (24.00CET) for all matches in the third qualifying round;
e. 16 August 2019 (24.00CET) for all matches in the play-offs;
f. 2 September 2019 (24.00CET) for all further matches from the first match inthe group stage up to and including the final.

42.08For the qualifying phase and the play-offs, a club may register a maximum of two new eligible players on List A after the above-mentioned deadlines, provided the quota of locally trained players is respected. Such registration must be completed by 24.00CET on the day before the relevant first-leg match and the club’s association must confirm in writing that the new player is eligible to play at domestic level at this time.

That does read for new signings to take part they have to be on the list the day before the 1st leg and then we can't change the list until we are in the 3rd Qualifying Round

That’s strange as most reports about Vallejo and Cutrone have said we’re hoping to get them in time for the Crusaders game. I’m sure the club know what they’re doing though!

Looks like we can register them both for the next round ok though.

When looking also spotted that the rules on cup tied can be slightly different.

If a player plays in the Champs League qualifiers then moves to a club in the Europa League he can play.....unless the club have already signed a player who has done the same, then the club has to decide which one they want to register.
If a players plays in the Europa League then moves to a club in the Champs League the same rules applies, unless that club falls into the Europa League and then he is Cup Tied.

Lol you said "Bennett was playing defense alongside Miranda, Ruddy, and Perry in midfield"

That was home v Bolton in the Championship.

He was playing defense alongside Miranda, Ruddy; Perry in midfield. Is that better for you. What I meant was clear.

Christ mate, a bit defensive aren't ya? I was just trying to explain Darlo's joke to you!

Incidentally, you wouldn't usually describe a defender as playing "alongside" a goalkeeper. That sounds a bit weird (although I do appreciate that, judging from your spelling of "defence", English might not be your first language).

Timmy has been reading the forum or talking to Wolves and Tweets that Jesus and Patrick wont be able to play on thursday

Assuming that is coreect information then it's of no consequence - we shouldn't need either for the return leg anyway & gives them a bit more time to acclimatise.

Took out a subscription so my Dad could watch it last on the Player. Seemed ok but the website is shit but if my Dad can get on with it, then that is ok

Checked the Channels on my Sky Box earlier and non of them were working. Thankfully just a turn it off and back on again solution.
