Cost of Living

I know that the age demographic on here is quite high but we haven't all got our bus passes yet!
And that's another thing, fucking Tories raised the age for getting a bus pass from 60 to 65

I obviously put price tickets out daily as part of my morning routine and the prices are jumping at crazy intervals.

Two weeks ago, 4pt bottles of milk wer £1.15 and are now £1.45. 6pt bottles have broken £2 from £1.55

Today I've added 40p to most lines of standard blocks of cheese.

I know Cadbury are reducing the size of a number of lines but keeping prices the same.

This isn't red reduced tickets going back to full price but standard prices increasing.

Extrapolate that to a full shop and you can see how much people are getting pinched.

2 litre Cokes over here from $2 to $2.20 then almost immediately to $2.50.
Topo Chico (mexican mineral water) 1.5 litre up from $2 to $2.50. That's water with added bubbles!

FYI those with energy price rises. Managed to get a switch to Octopus yesterday - soon as it’s gone through I can get Octopus Go, which is very cheap between 00.30 and 04.30. If you can time your appliances etc this can save a fortune.
Got an image now of you getting up at 2am to put the washing on :)

Don't have to worry about that as there aren't many buses down here anyway (though I am old enough to get one if there were)

Having our nearly 80yr old MiL living with you is swine when it comes to controlling the heating.

It can be hot enough to cook an egg on the path and she will be cold. Spent most of the last 2 months being a proper bastard when the heating is on. So we have got some Hive radiator controls., so we can set the heating to be on in particular rooms rather than the whole house.
They were installed yesterday and before use they need to be calibrated....turns out it does this by turning your heating on full for 3 bastard hours. So yesterday evening I spent a fortune on heating and had the pleasure of my house feeling like a bastard sauna. Poor dogs were crawling around desperate for water and she was sitting in a bastard jumper and a blanket wrapped around her!!

She is in hospital today (totally unrelated to my rage btw) and the operation will means a few days away from the house. All windows and doors open and no heating on.

Taking the piss but the poor lady has been through it today.

Arrived at New Cross at 7am for an op....just been told not happening and being sent home. I know it happens but fucking ridiculous she has only just been told. Not eaten since 7pm yesterday and left on her own since 12pm.

Petrol prices continue to creep upwards too. Another 2p added today.

Diesel has gone up 14p here in the last 2 weeks.
Went down to 171.9 but this evening up at 185.9. Like it was perfectly time as I need to fill the tank

It's not a nonsense system, it's a system designed for maximum profit, regardless of the cost, demand or availability of the product. We're getting fucked in the face of whilst having our pockets picked.

It’s not though, it’s just a very badly designed system, put together by people who do not understand the market, supply chain or constraints. I’d love to think there is some master plan to maximise profit as at least that would imply some intelligent thought.

Every single Tory MP present voted against a windfall tax on energy companies tonight.

People can get second jobs, work more hours or get better paid jobs. I don’t know what all this cost of living fuss is about 🤷‍♂️
