Being as this threads popped up again, there’s a programme on iplayer called disease X hunting the next pandemic, basically talking through what could do the inter species leap out of nowhere and fuck us over.
Worth a watch if only to realise, how close we’ve been before to pandemics and since the pandemic we’ve just been lucky.
It does say where the next one will likely come from species wise but I don’t want to spoil it.

In news that will not be a surprise to fucking anyone, it appears that the governments response to covid was too litle too late, resulting in huge volumes of preventable deaths occurring.

Steve Bruce speaking bollocks about this. Says it is inevitable that games will be played behind closed doors. Meanwhile the Government's chief scientific advisor Sir Patrick Vallance says this would be the wrong thing to do as mass gatherings at stadiums are less likely to cause a problem than someone going to a pub and watching the game there. Who to believe???
