"It's a midfield battle here as we pass the 30-minute mark. Neither side can really maintain a meaningful spell of possession. Still 0-0."

so basially both sides aren't playing well?

What a surprise, another shit Championship game. It's there for the taking with the amount of shit in this league.

Elsewhere I see Deeney has set up another Ighalo goal. Has anyone told Quique Sanchez Flores that you aren't allowed to play two strikers at the same time?

Pig sick of this formation with these players.

Crap commentary 'Henry plays the ball off Lennon who sees it out for a goal kick'.

If its off a Charlton player it can't be a GK so either its not off him or its not a GK - not sure how accurate anything I type is

Ref collides with the very large Charlton sub - physio's called on very quickly

Afobe seems to be limping a bit & having discussions at the side of the field

More illogical selections delivering more flaccid dross I fear

Half time - not a lot happening

Slightly better from us than them, but not by much.

0 - 0 is the appropriate score

They play a narrow 4 though, and very rarely cross the ball whereas we have wingers and cross the ball a lot (Graham crossed the ball 12 times against Reading and i had a look at Watford's game against Sunderland and the whole team only crossed the ball 11 times.

Tim Mk II's verdict on the first half:

Wolves solid but unspectacular. Sitting deep with five in midfield and Afobe is very isolated. A couple of sights of goal, but that's it. At the back they're compact and restricting a limited Charlton side. But they'll need to show more attacking ambitions after the break.

Apart from a little spell from us just before half time for a few minutes, nothing to say really.

Truly awful football match, and they had had the better possession!

Highlight was the ref getting flattened

Yeah, granted it wouldn't be an exact match. But then we're up against Charlton and Reading rather than Spurs and Chelsea as Watford have been this week.

We switched back to this system on 24th October vs Middlesbrough. 11 and a half games, 12 goals.

Thank God for Graham's dead ball ability or that stat would be even more damning.

This system doesn't have to be defensive though, it's just shit house tactics that make it boring and defensive. I see what you are saying, having 2 upfront should mean we are more of a threat but under Jackett i don't think we would be at the moment. Our midfield with 3 in it is like a sieve so with just 2 i would hate to see right now.

I have no problem with one up top, however the way we play it is so ambitious, it's like how Mick used to set up for tough away prem games, Charltn are 2nd bottom.
