Burnley (A) 30.03.2019

It’s only really Cav for Raul that really weakens us. With the Man Utd game on the Tuesday and cup game not till Sunday I guess we can go all in twice in a row.

But would we be better off going weaker in midweek?

With 3 games in 8 days (& the last one being the S/F) after an Int break when a number would have travelled a fair few miles then suspect that there will be some rotation in the starting 11.

Not uncomfortable with that

The thing is we can't get away with playing Adama at RWB against United, and we can't play Benno regardless on Saturday. Limits options a bit. I'm also thinking with Raul's travel (unless Mexico are nice and send him back now) then he's better missing this one.

Vinagre doesn't concern me against anyone so I don't mind which game he plays.

No absolutely, I agree. But I fear without Raul we will lose and then he could quite feasibly play on Tuesday and we still lose. It’s only really him that matters anyway. Everyone else is either at home, away but not playing much/at all or playing Sunday/Monday so have plenty of recovery.

Cav and jota dont really work together at all, unless were only playing counter attack and nothing else. I dont see us benching raul, or resting both doc and johnny, one will play vs burnley.

It will be cold

Turf Moor - the coldest ground I have ever been to - you have been warned.

How do you know they don't work together, we've never tried them in a front two, not even in a friendly or for a brief period at the end of a game when Cav has come on.

It's not ideal but Raul isn't going to be back in the country until Thursday.

Pffft sit in the detached Stand at Stoke........that is basically Antarctica with seats

It's Boundary Park. Always Boundary Park.

I once sat with leedswolf in that Stand at Stoke to watch Stafford Rangers v Kidsgrove Athletic in the Staffs Senior Cup Final. It was painful...and not just the level of football on display (Kidsgrove won it in the last minute of extra time). I think we may have frozen to death if it had gone to penalties and this was in May!

Boundary Park by a fucking mile, although the old Shay would have been second.

Stoke by a mile. I've sat in hat and gloves in that god forsaken stadium in August.

Boundary park is merely a bit chilly.

Think coldest I have ever been was at Loftus Road. Might have been the 0-0, shocking game of football summed up by Stephen Elliott missing an open goal.

Ah the day Paddy started the Freddy Freddy chant after Elliott missed from 4 yards out

Loftus Rd for me, because it was chucking it down and I was on the third row, level with the end of the stand roof. I think it was shortly after we'd signed Paul Butler.

To slightly misquote an American sports commentator from the ice bowl in the late sixties, Boundary Park is the closest I have got to taking a bite out of my coffee.

Wooden stand , Gigg lane, Bury. Absolutely the coldest I have ever been in my life at a football match.

Back on topic. We could do with a win in this although they also need the points. If they go for it we should be able to carve out chances. Personally I am going for an entertaining 2-2. Some heads will be thinking cup semi final!

I went for a draw in my predictions of our last ten results. This is going to be a tough week and a good test for Nuno to keep the players on task and take each game as they come, with the semi final next Sunday.

Burnley really need points ahead of a big game against Cardiff and a horrible final set of fixtures. Their last four games are Chelsea (A), Man City (H), Everton (A), Arsenal (H). And most of them will probably have something to play for.

I can see Raul not making this in time which I think would be wise. He can play Tuesday's game with still enough rest time IMO.

I think I would go with:

Ruddy (play Rui on Tuesday)

Saiss Coady Boly

Doherty Donck Neves Moutinho Jonny

Cav Jota
