Stick with what worked at Fulham? It looked a cobbled together team on paper but it was the best balanced we've looked all season. Everyone played well in the second half too, even Bellegarde who was rubbish in the first half.

I'm going to this one as my first game of the season (it doesn't mean I've forgiven you Jeff, I'm just weak-willed) so I dunno, blame me if we lose.

----------------------Sa------------------

Semedo--------Lemina-----Toti------Ait-Nouri

Bellegarde-----J Gomes----André-----R Gomes

---------------------Cunha---------------------

-------------------Strand Larsen-------------------

2023/24: L 0-1 (H), W 2-1 (A)
2022/23: L 0-1 (H), D 0-0 (A)
2019/20: W 1-0 (H), W 2-1 (A)
2018/19: W 2-0 (H), D 1-1 (A)
2014/15: L 1-2 (H), L 1-2 (A)
1998/99: D 1-1 (A, LC), L 1-2 (H, LC)

Yep same team for me, might be tempted to play Dawson if fit but that would mean Andre drops out probably which would be BAD

There have been high profile moments where players have been played out if position for a game, and done well, then been found out in the next game.

A midfield of Rooney and Ferdinand springs to mind....

I think this might end up being the case with Lemina, I hope I'm wrong.

Got to say, that’s an ugly team on paper.

Same team or if not, same set up.

Worried he will feel compelled to play a CB if fit and then as a result shoe horn Lemina somewhere else though.
My concern is also that we'll be back there again. Brings in Dawson and drops R Gomes to shove Lemina out there or Cunha wider and Lemina as an ineffective 10

The midfield pair of Gomes and Andre should be the starting point for the lineup. Lemina should either play CH or be on the bench as we look far more composed without him running around in midfield chasing shadows.
Definitely agree , put your 5 most important players down on paper who must play , and then work around that .

Just because Lemina worked at CB the last day does not mean he will work there again .

We know Dawson , has played really well this season when fit .

I suppose he could fudge it by putting Toti at LB and RAN ahead of him. I wouldn't do that though.

I think if Dawson or Bueno is fit he'll shoehorn one of them back in to a 3-4-3.

............................ Sa

....... Lemina - Dawson - Toti

Semedo - Gomes - Andre - RAN

........ Cunha - Larsen - Gomes

The three at the back hasn't even worked, I don't want us doing that in a home game we really could do with winning.

City - played alright but they still had loads of chances and we lost
Brighton - had to move back to a back four after going behind and being totally shite in the first half
Palace - had to move back to a back four after deservedly going 1-0 down, then we more or less immediately scored two
Southampton - fine, we won, but they are obviously the worst team in the league

I wouldn't pick that team, it's just what I think he might do.

All matches right now are huge . A win here would really back up the Fulham game . There is still that sense that Fulham were just very poor on the day - no where near their pre Int. break form .
Bournemouth's from is all over the place , a defeat at home last week - even against 10 man Brighton , is not a great look , lost to Brentford prior to that - but before that their form was more than decent .
I'd like to think that home advantage will give us an edge , very anxious to keep the run going , have Andre on the pitch now and an ever improving J Gomes and Cunha .
Could be a nervous 2-1 job in our favour .
