He's almost undroppable with Sako away though. Apart from Dicko he's the only fast attacking player we have.

He played quite well yesterday, the link up between him, Nouha, Edwards and Henry was top class at times. As we stated defending deeper he was fook all help though, running into dead ends or trying passes that just weren't on.

Didn't mention that in his post match interview. He said he adjusted his stride when he might not have needed to. Then he blamed a bobble :icon_lol:

He has been unlucky a couple of times not to score (Watford away and Brentford at home most recently) but in general he just seems to snatch at the chances as if he is over desperate to get a goal to his name.

I wish he would too - if he was to start converting his chances he'd easily get into double figures between now and the end of the season allowing for the odd miss or two

You can see it on the video if you watch his feet closely, his last few steps before striking are noticably smaller as he slows down to avoid running beyond the path of the ball then he can't get his feet right again to get a clean strike.

VLP's chance was a case of not getting it down quick enough. Still should have hit the target though.

VLP has plenty of chance to let the ball drop before he hits it, the defender is miles away from him.

Hopefully we do sign Afobe to give us a decent option other than Dicko - not because I don't want him playing, but also don't want him burning out or trying to play when not 100%
