Bellend commentators

Pat Murphy needs to be careful he doesn’t disappear up Unai Emery’s arse. Listening to 5Live today it’s clear he’s a Villa fan and incapable of objective reporting.

He's hated Wolves for many a year. Clough could do no wrong either

For the final half hour of our game today I had to switch to the Richard Keys feed. They advertise it as "ALL the goals in real time". Yeah, sounds good.

What it means is that you're watching your match and without warning - and irrespective of what's happening, we were on a rare attack once - the sound completely cuts off, you hear Richard breathe into the microphone for a couple of seconds, your game goes into 20% of the screen, and you see a goal from another game, while he and Andy give some stock "it's a ball in and Mitrovic heads it home, 2-0" voiceover.

Truly appalling.

I was watching that feed. They showed a goal...possibly Palace and Keys said "there has also been a huge goal at Stamford Bridge". It was another 5 mins before they showed it.

I listened back to the fivelive coverage of last Saturdays games and for a change he was quite complimentary of us.
The biggest upset came from the commentator in the City Leeds game who, when discussing Haaland reaching fifty goals, stated that the last player to do it in English football was Wolves legend Steve Bruce.

Pretty unprofessional imo, tbf a lot of the 'pundits' that are recent top players are but he's worse than Neville or Carragher and that's saying summat.

Garth bellend on outstanding form.

He was “never convinced” that sacking Brentdan was the right thing to do. That’s fucking laughable. Now Leicester are still almost certain to bite the dust, but they had kept him on they would be below Southampton right now and the players and especially fans absolutely despised him.

He has a point with respect to who they then replaced him with.

They should have binned Brendan back before the World Cup, just before he took them on a decent run that pulled them out of the shit. Before this latest run of shite he also got huge wins at Spurs and Villa. So if you have gone that deep into a season with him, you might as well stick with him if the only other option is bringing in a guy who failed in the Championship the same season

They beat Spurs 4 1 on Feb 11th, the same day we beat Southampton. At that point they were 13th and 6 points +GD clear of 18th - only 4 pts behind Villa. As you say you wouldn't want to sack someone much later than that, but at that point there was no reason to. It turned to shit quickly from there

He would have, had he mentioned the replacement at all. But he didn’t. So the whole thing reads as Rodgers would have saved them. Which is bollocks.

No-one in the world other than Dean Smith thinks that Dean Smith is a better manager than Brendan Rodgers (for all the latter's faults). From that point of view it was a ridiculous change. Not even like he has a proven track record of saving teams.

They left it so late that he was the only half decent option available to them who knew the division. They avoided the Allardyce option for good reason. Though earlier in the season when their fans wanted Rodgers sacked they all scoffed at Dyche.

They tried for Jesse Lasso before Smith. He seemed to do a Curbishley on them though

What’s the good reason for avoiding Allardyce if you want to stay up and the alternative is Dean Smith? I’m no BFS fan but I’m pretty sure they’d have been better off with him.

Allardyce is shite. I'd rather have Lage.

Knows the division!? What does that actualy mean?
