Beer

Surprised anyone wants to be associated with Brewdog these days, as they're pretty toxic from a PR standpoint.

In PACK in Wolves and people are queueing in a line at the bar. 🤦‍♀️

Apologies, that’s pretty special beer and wondered if it was. It’s a sort of ‘next level’ beer I don’t drink too often and associate with a gift/special occasion and put two and two together.

There's 6 beers altogether brewed by Cloudwater as part of their Barrel Age series for 2025. Along with the 3 Tommie Sjef Geuezes they're my annual Christmas treat (indulgence).

Was over in England recently. Drinking Level Head. 4.0 abv.
Had 'quite a few' in a session.
Very enjoyable and no hangover next day.
Felt right as rain.

Brewed by Greene King. Not had one, but there again they're not a brewery I'm fond of. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hoppy, zesty, nice bite to it, which I like. Not a patch on Bathams or Golden Glow. But refreshingly good.
Not much good over here, plenty of choice but most of it is hangover material. I like the O'Hara's range for taste but always have a hangover if I've had a few.
Been drinking Galway Hooker lately (bottles) their Sixty Knots is a nice beer but on a 5.5 abv plate so wouldn't have more than 5 personally.

Not had any from O'Hara even though I did a few weeks work at Irish Sugar in Carlow in the early 2000s.

Their basic IPA is good tastewise. Their '51st State' is stronger and also has great taste but both give me a bit of a hangover. They do a stout which is deliciously chocolatey, but i've only had the odd one as I'm not big into stout. Much more interesting than Guinness though imv. (All of the above are bottled). Though I've drunk their IPA on draught. Erm, a bit too much the once.
Round our way there's Wicklow Wolf (named after me I think 😆) 'Elevation' and 'HopNut' on draught, both tasty but not many drink them, so I'm never confident of the outcome of having a few. Four or five max. for me usually.
