Barnsley v Wolves: Matchday Thread

Channel 5 don't make a decision they just show the game that is live worldwide, which today should be Boro V Fulham

If I were looking at today's fixtures, I would have picked Blues v Derby (resurgent strugglers versus form team), Boro v Fulham (battle for playoff places, or even 2nd), or Forest v Villa (new manager v team hoping to push for 2nd) than Barnsley v Wolves - although we do offer the Chinese Money head-to-head, I suppose.

It popped up very late this time. Maybe was to do with the C5 thing.

It was already there early yesterday.

Featured game on C5, so those not going should still be able to get a good view, as it were.

What's the source for this Tom? Link?

The reliable streaming sites are saying the Championship game is Boro v Fulham.

I don’t think Channel 5 has any say on what the featured game is, it’s just whatever gets picked for broadcast overseas - maybe there was a last-minute change in scheduling? Would explain why the option to buy a WolvesTV pass went up so late compared to other games.

Ruddy; Boly, Coady, Bennett; Douglas, Neves, Saiss, Doherty; Jota, Bonatini, Costa

Personally would have had Cav starting but hey ho.

Cav on the bench again then. Nuno must really see him best used as an impact sub. Hope Costa can get on the scoresheet today though, would be amazing to have him firing on all cylinders again.

Cyberman alert!

Hammill starts for them.

I have merged the two threads as I am a bit bored with two threads running concurrently every match

Agree with that - though Costa is not a bad alternative (would like him to get the first goal just to boost his confidence & get back fully the player we had last season)

Apologies Pad, I thought I remembered someone bemoaning the two having become one thread a few matches ago. :shakehand:

Wouldn’t read anything into it. Just an easy rotation. Cav will start in midweek.

Plus he wants to get Costa fully up to speed and starting the game with the rest of the first team is the only way to do that.

I'd guess it's more that he's trying to give Costa the best possible chance to prove himself again. I wouldn't be surprised if it only takes one more instance of Cav changing the game positively before he gets the nod over Helder again.

I am past that. My problem is the same discussions being repeated across the two. It looks shite. In an ideal world I would lock the build up thread one hour before kick-off so the line-ups go into another thread.

Noted, bud. I'll refrain from clogging things up in the future. :beerchug:

No need - it just seems logical for a mod to either merge or temporarily close the build up thread when you (or whomever gets the team news first) starts matchday.
