He was always an #8 in France, which is why it frustrated me so much that we shunted him onto a wing, whether he ends up being PL-capable or not.

If you buy a player based on their performances at a particular position, fucking play them at that position. Ain't complicated.

Different context tho wasn't it, he'd been played in his "proper" position and found wanting; it was either fill a different need or don't play at all, and at that point he wouldn't have been getting snapped up by a top-flight club, much less in the PL.
