In isolation I wasn't displeased with it. There was an element of control and organisation about it which has been sorely lacking all season. We had the better chances. The disallowed goal was unfortunate. You definitely couldn't say Villa deserved to win.

However:

a) We need points, not promise
b) We aren't going to keep clean sheets. We just aren't
c) If and when we do go behind, how are we ever going to get back into a game, we have no creativity anywhere
d) That's Villa well below par. And they still won. If decent teams play anywhere near their natural ability, they'll pretty much always beat us

If we're looking for positives, Hwang and Munetsi going unused might be one, the less I have to watch of either of them, the better.

Agree with all of that. Positive in isolation, and good if Edwards has already sussed to leave Hwang and Munetsi on their arse. Agbadou in encouraging form.

We've scored 7 league goals all season and none in the last 4 games. Shocking, but that's what you get when you have literally one player in the entire squad who can score goals

The starting XI did very well but as soon as Chirewa and Mane came on normal service was resumed. At least there’s hope we can avoid total humiliation over the season.

As for Villa, it’s a complete mystery how they’re in third place, I suspect they’ve had a run of favourable fixtures.

Much better performance and deserved something, hopefully a sign of things to come under Rob. Martinez was the difference for them and took a worldie goal to settle it. Shame though that we had the chances and deserved something but finish empty handed again. A more encouraging performance than for some time though.

Didn't bring on Hwang or Munetsi, progress!

3 goals in our last 7 league games. One was an own goal and one was a penalty.

A little bit better but still on the shite end of the spectrum. Nothing to be proud of at all.

It reminded me a bit of one of Lopetegui's early games against West Ham at home. They set up bizarrely and posed very little threat. We clearly had very little confidence and needed to win.

As much as he's a cock, we had a bit of quality from Podence to get the goal, and we had enough at the back to keep the clean sheet.

We don't have either of the above now.

I genuinely don't know how we win a game.

I thought we were excellent first half, decent in the second. Villa created no chances of note and couldn't really have complained had we taken it 1-0.

There was effort from everyone today and we looked more solid. Andre and Gomes bossed the middle as they are more than capable of when being used properly.

Only negative was Arias really. Again. Mane or Lopez deserve to start next game ahead of him.

And Agbadou is back.

They're over performing based on the stats. Like Forest last season.

Decided to go for a long run instead and hopped it would change our fortunes. Just watched the sky sports highlights

Apart from hitting the bar from that freekick first half (SJ flapping at a cross who would’ve thought) and the goal, they seem to have created nothing.

Correct decision to disallow the goal, sadly. But was well worked.

That’s some save by Martinez from Mosq header.

Looked better, but sadly optics don’t matter. It’s about points and that’s another game we come away with nothing.

Ive already given up on staying in the Premier league so a decent performance and some structure is worth a bit and hopefully give us some confidence. Hoping we can scam 4 or 5 wins by seasons end and give us a bit of impetus at the start of next season in the Championship.
Still dont see where the goals are coming from though.

Actually a nod to Tchatchoua today. I think he's a terrible footballer (but also less terrible than the other two alternatives) but he did alright. Defended ok, and for once used the one actual asset he has (though I still maintain that speed stats are weird and he isn't actually that quick).

If you got Krejci in there for Toti (good lad but he shouldn't be starting as much as we have him starting), got a better outlet from LWB (Wolfe is not very good, but he is better than Hugo fucking Bueno), signed an actual #8 so we could maybe create something from midfield and then a proper second striker, and brought in a better goalkeeper....well we'd still be too far behind for it to make any difference. But we don't have a starting XI that's 11 rubbish footballers. Just all the good ones need far too much help from here.

If and it’s a huge if we could bring in (probably on loan) 3 or 4 decent players, then it’s not out of the question to manage to escape the inevitable?

Well it is because we have six games in December, and I suspect we'll win none of them.

Who are you signing to fix that from 1 January onwards? You'd need Champions League form.

Im usually up for some positivity but sadly I think its too late. Even if by some miracle we did stay up, what happens next season when Shi thinks everything is going fine?

I really don't care about Rob Edwards but I can do without the posturing at full time. What are you trying to prove you fucking idiot. Just clap and fuck off.
