Arsenal (A) - 2/11/19 - Build-Up & Match Thread

Doubt we'll ever see it again. Doc did nothing wrong in that position but we just aren't going to make anything of his strengths there.

Rui

Saiss Coady Kilman

Doc Donk Joao Jonny

Traore Jimenez Jota

I don't care who the opposition is. One of our strengths is playing our best system no matter who we're playing. We should keep switching and changing now, stick to our best XI whatever that system may be.

Issue with that is Saiss is generally poor on the right hand side of the defence.

He was fine there last time he played there IIRC, and I'd rather not have Vallejo up against Aubameyang.

There was a reason we scrapped the plan to play him there ahead of Bennett. He has a massive weak spot with the ball down the outside. If we have no other option, you have to play him but we have options. I would go as far as prefering the option of playing Sanderson ahead of him on the right. Saiss has been immense on the left and that is where he should stay

Sando (as I've now dubbed him) should definitely be an option. He's decent.

It’ll be Doc or Donck IMO, I’d obviously rather it was Donck

Yes Sanderson definitely looks like he could step up in the near future. Needs to be starting cup games at RCB.

If Bennet is not fit then would rather move the Donk back (Neves into midfield) & still go 3 - 4 - 3

Would be a test for him, but not objectional to use Kilman in that back line instead - he doesn't appear to have done anything wrong, will grow from more games & we will need to use him till Boly/Bennet can return or we get to Jan & bring others in if we can.

BAS playing for the U23's tonight so no bench spot for him but Sanderson and Perry not involved

I was impressed by Sanderson. His physique is already there, just needs to work on his touch.

Must be used as a CB though.

For those on the train Manny Singh has just posted on Twitter that 16 trains operated by West Midland Railways have been cancelled tomorrow from Wolverhampton to Euston between 8am and 1pm.

Same team as Newcastle. Formation tbc I guess

Same team as we started against Newcastle.

Kilman and Perry on the bench.

Wolves app has it as 3-4-3, back 3 of Saiss, Coady and Donk. Jota, Raul and Adama up front. Best line-up possible really, hope we can cope with Aubamayang and Lacazette, but don't think we will stop them entirely. Need to attack their defence which is slower than molasses.

Let’s hope we don’t start to play till second half then.

Probably the best option with the personnel we have. May struggle a bit at the back, but so will they.

Just hope they struggle more than us.

It did last week as well...

Looks like they are playing a diamond. Need a big performance from the midfield. Traore and Jota going to need to support a lot
