AFCON 2015

That is an incredible goal.

And now a missed penalty for RSA! Quite an eventful couple of minutes.

And now an OG for RSA! Paying for their profligacy. They could have scored 6, instead it's 1-1.

2-1 for Algeria. Unbelievably against the run of play. I would be absolutely sick to my stomach if I was South African.

Oh FFS what a howler. :icon_lol:

I don't think I've ever seen a team look so good and then lose by multiple goals. That was wrenching to watch.

It wasn't fun in the end. Morbidly fascinating, I'd say.

"Morbid fascination" pretty much sums up the African Nations. The standard has never crept above abysmal in the 15 years or so I've been watching it.

That's a tad harsh. South Africa were playing some brilliant stuff today. Piss at defending, I grant you.

Defending being quite a major part of football of course.

"I was a fantastic dentist, other than cavities"

What an awful standard of football this ACON is. No better than the Johnstone's Paint trophy if the odd team contained a world class player. They all seem to be subscribed to Dean Saunders management style.

I'm with Alan on this one. The standard isn't brilliant all the time but it's still enjoyable to watch.

Different cultures lend themselves to various football ideology, would an African public enjoy opposing teams basing their games on containment and counter attack?

Ivory Coast has a player called Wilfried Kanon.

Brilliant ;)

Well this is dreadful. :(

Woopsie,a goal to Guinea

oh my the bein sport commentary :)

Ivory Coast look very poor, can see guinea just sitting back for the whole game now.
