Not keen on his responses to Beth Rigby, I’m sure he could have handled them far better. He was much more confident when speaking to the audience and it’s a pity he didn’t have more time to give more detailed answers. I thought he did well in that section and the ming vase is still intact.

Sunak doesn’t do humility. He’s a smarmy prick.

Focus groups prior to the campaign didn’t know the background of his family and thought it was positive. He’s mentioned it too many times now and it’s ridiculous that an adviser (and he himself) doesn’t know when to belt up about it.

I can understand wanting to show you're more relatable than Rishi, but yeah surely spads should be saying to wind it in a bit. It's like they presume that every audience is seeing them for the first time

It's designed to move the narrative away from him being a north london lawyer though, so pick your battles

Got to say I thought the format for this was excellent. Plenty of time for scrutiny and to-and-fro with questioning and follow-up from both Beth and the audience too

Yep. YouGov have Keir out at winning 64% to 36%. Guess which party allegedly asked for the BBC and ITV debates asked for the head to head at the same time format.

This sounded a lot better format - is there anywhere I can watch it back?

It's always the best format of these IMO. Bunch of people standing at lecterns talking over each other is never illuminating by contrast.

That said, both Starmer and Sunak have continually talked over the moderators in both debates so far, and it's a bad look.

I didn’t plan to vote Labour anyway but hearing him talk about “difficult decisions” around funding and scrapping the two child benefit cap for reducing child poverty was grim to hear

Awful.

Those difficult decisions never involve raising taxes. Cuts. Always cuts.

He was at Oxford University when that photograph was taken.
They are probably rented flats above the pharmacy, I doubt very much it was the family home.
