Labour losing votes over Gaza was definitely a calculated decision, and to be fair, those lost votes won't be voting Reform or Tory in 5 years time.

But I don't think Labour would've lost seats if they'd have been firmer, earlier. May have been bigger consequences behind the scenes of course, but I don't think it would've damaged public opinion (certainly not by the 15% it's cost them now)
