    The Summer 2024 Transfer Thread.

I think that's the big issue with him, no-one seems to know, I thought he was a 10 but as others have mentioned we don't really play with one. He definitely doesn't look like a wide player. He's not that young either.

Think this fair, although I agree with others it would be nice to see him in a role that suits him better. As you say as a squad player he would be ok, how much did we pay 12m?

Yep he needs to up his game this season, otherwise he'll fall into the 'overpriced' bracket.

28m was undoubtedly too much for Semedo but in the end its turned out to be decent value I think, defensively he's been mostly very good and he's clocked up a lot of match time, rarely injured. It's a shame about his attacking prowess once he gets to the final third.

Don't think there's anything wrong with players coming in like Doyle, Santi etc for squad depth, provided you have a decent hit rate with 15-20m players like Gomes. There's only really Cunha that we've spent big money on that's come good recently, Jiminez probably the most recent before Cunha.

I guess that's the hardest market to get it right, you're not getting the very best players for that price so risking a bit on potential, which we've been very bad on so far. I'd hope we'd find enough quality in the 10-20 range (Lemina, Gomes types) with a few free's and lower priced older...

Fans Against VAR - Join us

Suspect you're right about Jeff's motives, at least in part but despite that I'm glad he's come out with it, if it means something positive comes out of it then that's all good imo. It will have no effect on people's view of Shi and Fosun, the people who think he/they are a strong on our club...

    VAR Stay or Go

On the rest is football pod this morning Lineker and Co were discussing the Wolves submission, He read out the whole piece and asked the question "any of the points to disagree with here?" And the answer came back no, theyre all valid. Although none of them thought it would get scrapped, Shearer...

Completely agree but my hopes are low.

    VAR Stay or Go

Absolutely. That's my point some of the decisions would have been the same whether with or without var. Its impossible to know how many we lost due to var for reasons already mentioned. My guess is (same as EP) more than the 3 some are saying, less than the 9+ others are saying.

    VAR Stay or Go

I agree if var had done jts job we probably would have more points but no-where near the 9 some are saying. BTW I agree about your point that refs might not have given the decisions they did because of relying on var.

    VAR Stay or Go

It's the 5 years thing I find most frustrating, I was expecting teething problems but after 5 years it feels like it's getting worse.

    VAR Stay or Go

Let's not forget the points we gained by var not doing its job, I'm thinking of the penalty not given against Doc against Villa and I think a penalty we got for a Neto dive (can't remember which game)

    VAR Stay or Go

Up until 6 months ago I was keep but get it sorted out. I feel if they haven't got it right by now they're not going to, it really does take away from the match day experience, fuck it of. (They won't obviously)

Wolves 1-3 Crystal Palace: Verdict Thread

Don't think its dismissive, I like Dawson, he's done a good job, but if he's leading our defence (with the same personnel) next season, it concerns me.

Wolves 1-3 Crystal Palace: Verdict Thread

That's the problem, he's the best we've got in the squad, he's a 34 year old journeyman (maybe a bit harsh) and we're relying on him to help us be a bit less shit at the back. We were poor with him guiding the defence and terrible since he got injured.

Wolves 1-3 Crystal Palace: Verdict Thread

But that's only part of it, despite the injuries and lack of back up we still scored goals (albeit a lower rate)since 30th March but defensively we've been poor all season, Dawson helped paper over the cracks but even then we weren't that solid. Surely we have to improve over the season...

It was nice last time I went but that was years ago, the only slight negative is its quite close to the main road.

    The Velotard Thread.

That was pretty much the route I was thinking. Some grim bits through Wellington but I suppose that can't be helped. Goes past my daughters front door in Lilleshall (try to avoid shool drop off/pick up times there). Was thinking about the Green Dragon for your overnight. My lad and his mate...
