Listen I vote Green and everything. And I've still got a thing for Felicity Kendall.

Don't get me wrong, I love gardening, always have done. When the family obsession with canoe racing subsides I'll no doubt get back into it a bit more seriously.

I've given up in the last few years. My current garden just doesn't seem conducive to veg growing. Had much more success in my last house and used to grow loads on the allotment years ago. I just don't have the time at the moment to make it work. My garden is now a place for having a glass of...

Vegetable gardening - nine months' hard work for three months' disappointment.

    The Film Thread

Arrival's a great film. I'm biased, obviously, as Amy Adams has a bit of a thing for me. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - really good film to watch with the kids. Very enjoyable. Getting very bored of Eddie Redmayne and his posh awkwardness though.

Spent much of the weekend catching up with the second series of Line of Duty before we start watching the current one. Excellent stuff.

    The Fitness Thread

For what it's worth, I've been using a Specialised mountain bike and road bike with no problems whatsoever. Well made, good prices, and go on for ever if you look after them (well, since 2008).

Even more ridiculous when you consider that the blue passport was only in existence for 68 years. It's not like Queen Elizabeth I personally issued one to Walter Raleigh before he sailed off on his travels. If you're under 29 - so that's a good proportion of the population - you've never held a...

Did "office worker Richard Peliza" (not a very British name) *really* say "The UK should not bend"?? Is that the sort of thing a normal office worker would say?

    Political Compass

I think a four-day week, with people working slightly longer hours could work for us. So much so, in fact, that I'm going to consult with the team about giving it a trial. We find recruitment a bit of a problem (not so much retention as people tend to stay a while once they're here) so anything...

    Political Compass

I'm probably not mature enough to make a four-day-week work as I've been too distracted by one of the contributors being named Barbara Wankoff.

Greek wine, though, Cyber? I'm all for European integration, but there's no excuse for that.

If there's a normal working class, there must also be an abnormal one. Or was it just a meaningless cliche?
