Top window, for my money. Markedly improved the first 11, and generally gave the squad the sort of freshening up it's been crying out for for years, with some big wages off the books. If we're minded to bring in Denayer tomorrow for a bit of CB depth I won't be complaining, but pretty made up...
If we had absolutely no incomings and outgoings today, I'd have been perfectly happy.
As it stands, we're down a CB, in the form of Boly- not ideal, and it'd be nice if we could get Denayer in still, but I'm not going to rend my garments over it.
If we do get Traore, or a similar player across the line, I'm very happy with the window- I'm pretty sanguine about CB (hopefully we can still get Denayer in), and all the points about the window I've already mentioned will still be.
The midfield's a big concern right now, though.
EDIT: Never...
And maybe we have, but the last word we got is that we were hoping to get a deal across the line, which can mean all sorts.
No, but starting negotiations isn't the tricky bit- that's finishing them, and they're pressed for time for something we haven't heard is particularly close yet.
It absolutely is, provided they don't go mad and flog Neves this afternoon. Get a decent manager in, and the first 11 and the squad in general is significantly stronger than it was at the end of last season.
Ornstein was saying earlier that we'd be willing to let Dendoncker go if we had the replacement sorted, so I'd guess that we've hashed out the price for The Slow Traore and he'll be coming in today.
Yeah, it’s a weird one- short of anything completely unexpected, this has been our best window for years and years (frankly, far better than I could have remotely expected back in May), but with Lage in charge, what the hell’s the point? Doesn’t matter how big a team of all-stars we put...
