Surprised everyone thinks £25m is steep. You don’t get much for less than that, certainly not proven performers in their theoretical peak from a rival with no pressure to sell.
I’m away next weekend so would have missed the Chelsea game anyway and have been given a season ticket for the Newcastle game. So already halfway through the “4 free games” a ST gets you after 2 games.
I used to wait till the team sheet, no idea why, barely makes any difference as you say. As a result I think I ended up missing a fair few games as I’d forgot or couldn’t actually post because I was around Molineux with no signal…
3-0
There is no justification. But shit players end up on big money by default because they are at a big/rich club. The story of man United since forever. Then they can’t shift them because of said contract.
They won’t be signed as filler. But that’s what they’ll end up being. If you’re not paying in the top bracket then it’s highly unlikely you are getting a top player who hits the ground running.
It will be the same as last year. Everyone will be miles clear of the bottom 3. Ignoring points deductions there won’t be much in it between the rest of bottom half.
I don’t doubt we are going to sign 3 or 4 players in the next few weeks. Don’t expect them to be anything more than filler though like the deals at the end of the window last year (Doyle/Bellegarde/Bueno)
We’ve got just as much chance beating Chelsea or Newcastle at home as we have Palace tbh.
When you’ve got a bottom third squad and ambition then there’s not actually that many easy games, particularly when everyone in that group outside the promoted sides is pretty evenly matched.
Don’t watch basketball but catching a little bit of the women gold medal match. Seems better than the men to watch as they don’t score every single time.
Too many unknowns (and knowns as shit) in this squad.
How are Toti and Mosquera going to get on in a two? Is Santi Bueno any good? Is Dawson finished at this level (definitely in this set up). Doherty is shit, Lima a young kid.
Which Hwang is turning up this year? Is Sarabia going to be more...
@Dire Wolf you’ll have to explain to me why “changing the pace” is effective in these 5000m and others similar. Surely it doesn’t matter what anyone else runs it at? Run at you most effective pace and you’ll make up the ground at the end when they burn out?
I can’t seem to find an answer on the debate around Imane Khelif. So does someone on here somehow have some inside knowledge.
Does she have the same situation as Caster Semenya? Now it’s not her fault, but it’s also not fair. And that was running, not being punched in the face.
General rule of thumb with fracture is that the bone will have healed after 6-8 weeks. You can “Play through” any pain after that and won’t do any damage but it might still hurt for a good month or so after. If it’s just walking and not road running or weight lifting then she’ll be fine pretty soon.
