Gray leaving Villa meant they had to rely on a local youngster and sign an aging Peter Withe to play with him for the 80/81 and 81/82 seasons. I was never the Gray fan that most were but wow, must he have regretted joining us!
Clearly a strong position but decision as to whether to bat again or enforce the follow on is an important one. Think I'd enforce the follow on.

Real chance today and tomorrow for Worcestershire to get the points to stay in Division One. Massive achievement given the difficulty in keeping their best players. The irony of Notts going down (🤞), where we seem to lose most to, would not be lost.
I know him as he's local and has a good brother as well. Been playing along with Harry Darley so good to still see the Shropshire youngsters having a pathway to senior cricket. Shame they have to leave Worcs to progress further.
I think when Cefn Druids were in Europe (or it could have been Connahs Quay), they had to play at Cardiff for exactly that reason. Wrexham may not have been suitable also but definitely there was insufficient space in the calendar at TNS (as TNS were probably playing in Europe at the same time)

'The Venue' at Park Hall is however just so soulless. Only excitement generated is in the ten pin bowling alley.
Great city, terrible decrepit ground and view from behind the goals. Like an end with a running track, except there is no longer [not sure if there ever was] a running track. A bit plonked in front to make the fans appear closer, but so shallow unless you are 6'7'' or on the front row you can't...
