Ukraine

What stance has the American mainstream media took, are the public buying into them?
It’s only really Fox News trying to paint it as a good thing, as far as I know. I do think that the “centrist” organizations are scared to put the boot in too hard for fear of the FCC trying to squeeze them over it (not something the FCC technically has the authority to do, but technical rules have gone well out the window).

MSNBC don’t pull any punches, but they’re seen as the liberal version of Fox News, so they won’t be persuading anyone who doesn’t already agree with them.

Now it really is up to europe to step up, or just cave in to tramp.

As long as we step up maybe as far as the rare mineral deal. Backing off trump feeds the beast, has a pretty obvious result after all.

Looks like Zelensky is going to take the knee

Really feel for the guy, him and the Ukrainian people have done fuck all wrong, just trying to keep an aggressor out of their country and that Twat has bought them to their knees just cos he wants to be the big man and say "I stopped the war" at any cost to the innocents.

He's got no choice really. The only play is to kiss the ring, take whatever help he gives and then lay into him when he's out. It must have been so hard not to fucking chin him in that meeting, or just slate him on socials.

I thought wars of oil might stop, but they'll be replaced by wars over rare / essential minerals

It's like having JR Ewing in the Whitehouse

The US has confirmed it is restricting its intelligence sharing activities with Ukraine. Allowing Russia the best chance of taking as much land as possible before any peace deal seems to be the American position.

If Jezza has been consistently anti Putin, why has he repeatedly appeared on and praised Russias state TV station, RT, which acts as Putins mouthpiece?

As ever with JC, words are cheap. Actions matter. Or maybe he just values his appearance fees more than his principles.

I don't think Jeremy Corbyn has ever valued his appearance. He's hardly been a pin-up boy for haute couture or sartorial elegance.

He's certainly not alone in appearing on RT. He's also voted for or proposed plenty of motions condemning the actions of the Putin regime. Tony Blair's statements have been more sympathetic to Putin, even since leaving office.

Yes, lots of people have appeared on RT.

Corbyn, Galloway, Milne, Farage.....

As long as you're pro Putin you'll get an invite.

“There was an audible gasp in the room at the Council on Foreign Relations as Keith Kellogg, the White House’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, characterised the US decision to cut off intelligence sharing and military aid to Kyiv as like beating a farm animal with a piece of wood.

“Very candidly, they brought it on themselves, the Ukrainians,” Kellogg said as the veteran diplomats, academics, and journalists in the room recoiled in surprise. Several held their faces in their hands. “I think the best way I can describe it is sort of like hitting a mule with a two-by-four across the nose,” he continued. “You got their attention, and it’s very significant, obviously, because of the support that we give.”
