Wolves 3-4 Man Utd: Verdict Thread

They ask Toti Gomes to do some very strange and obscure things, some of the positions he takes up and where moves is pretty bizarre at times. It's happened too many times not to be instruction. If he is going to do that then you need the person to the left of him to be aware of when and cover off some of that space when Doherty plays there we always look vulnerable on that side.

It was Toti that was getting skinned in the early period of that game, not Doc, we were playing that weird and wonky hybrid 5/4 formation again.
Toti was getting overran because he was doing the work of two men. And he got to grips with it after twenty minutes.

Pop quiz:

Harry Kane has a knock to his ankle ahead of England's group game in the Euros vs Slovenia. Ollie Watkins starts, does ok without scoring or assisting and England win 2-0.

Kane is fit again for the following knockout game vs France.

Should Gareth Southgate a) pick his best player or b) leave it as it is because Watkins was "fine" and we won last game so it's not fair if you drop him.

Take your time.

Toti, unfit Bueno, strap-on wearing RAN, and maybe even Keto-Diyawa should be ahead of Matt Doherty at LWB. I don't care that he wasn't awful in a game against some shit Championship side and managed to not fuck up against Brighton. He's not good enough, he's not fit enough, and he's not disciplined enough. His selection for last night's game is completely and utterly indefensible.
I mean, it's a funny post. But it's not true is it, Doc has performed better at LWB than a fully fit Bueno so far this season, so a Bueno lacking match sharpness would have been way off it, as we've seen in previous appearances from him, he's somehow a weaker defender than Doc, particularly at preventing crosses.

And this isn't defending Doc, it's defending GON, RAN clearly wasn't 100% fit, that is a fact, so the options were to either play the same team and defence that had played well in previous games or make several changes to it to accommodate Toti there.

Mamy of you are saying you'd have done the latter, fine. Firstly I think captain hindsight is doing "a lot of heavy lifting here" and secondly the preparation time needed to make those adjustments is also significant, it's easy to say change v, w, x, y, z from the comfort of your keyboard. If the result had gone the same way I'm sure there would have been some saying "he made too many changes.."

You take your time, i mean this is just nonsense isn't it.

A) RAN, wasn't "fit again" he was wearing a knee brace last night that he wasn't wearing on Sunday

B) I am not saying he shouldn't have dropped Doc if RAN was fit.

I can assure you that if we'd played anyone else at LWB and we'd lost I would not be saying "we should have played Matt Doherty".
A shocking state of affairs 😂

Yep, he pops up all over the place, DM, AM, RW, it's like he's got a free role - it's definitely under instruction.

He actually seems to be more disciplined when RAN is playing.

You are saying B (and guessing about RAN's fitness), you said we should keep it the same because we didn't let a goal in against Brighton or West Brom. This despite having watched Matt Doherty for 12 years and knowing what he is.

You are hugely and massively putting strap ons in my mouth here.

I'm NOT guessing about RAN's fitness, this is getting to Trump levels of denying the fucking obvious now.

There is DEFINITELY a problem with RAN's fitness, whether it is 1% or 80% there IS a problem with his fitness else he wouldn't be wearing a strap around his knee that he borrowed from 42 year old Barry, who wears it every Sunday morning as he still thinks he's fit and slim enough to kick a ball around

No one wears that if they are 100%, no one. That's not guess work, that's a fact.

Good job we picked elite athlete Matt Doherty then.

There is no world in which he's an acceptable option.

Do you often argue black is white with her as well? Does it go as well as this?

It is that simple as he's nowhere near fit for purpose, I don't know why you're pretending otherwise.

Was Raul’s wrist constantly fucked? Must have been, it’s a fact.
