He's got Milkins or Pang next, that's a good draw. Pang has only got past R2 in one tournament all season, didn't do anything special in qualifying either. Beat Oliver Brown 10-7 and Cao Yupeng 10-8 and only made one century across the 35 frames. Although he was 8-6 down to Cao and reeled off the last four frames on the spin so there is that.
A reasonable year for the Milkman but he looks slightly out of place in the top 16 (benefiting from the likes of Maguire/Bingham/Robertson having rough spells), he's normally well outside it.
His breaks in the last 3 frames have been excellent.Gilbert 12-4 up on Milkins, just one frame needed to go through tonight.
If he hadn't messed up that last frame yesterday, snookering himself on frame ball, he'd have been done and dusted and not having to come back tonight.Gilbert 12-4 up on Milkins, just one frame needed to go through tonight.
Good bowling figures.Ronnie safely through 13-7. Day didn't make him work particularly hard for it.
Allen 9-7 Higgins
Bingham 9-7 Lisowski
Would fancy those two to hang on and get the 4 frames required
Lisowski really is a weird player. Pulls off some amazing shots and then messes up simple chances. Got to be down to shot selection and ball control. He's nowhere near the top players at those two.
Saw Dave again this morning as I was in for a comp. He really is buzzing at the minute as you'd expect. Maguire is playing well but is very beatable if he starts missing and banging the table and cue about. Bit of a MilkinsMax in that regard.
Where do you see him @The Bear ? Not an actual venue just a town. He used to be from, live and practice in Tamworth but I can see the BBC reporting today that he is from Derby?Saw Dave again this morning as I was in for a comp.
