Wolves - Man City Pre-Season Cup Final Match Thread

Feeling really proud and emotional watching these boys lift that trophy. I have only ever seen us lift trophies on FIFA so to see this for real is really amazing, I don't care it's "only" the Asia Trophy

Don't forget it's the Premier League Asia Trophy

We are pretty fucking good. And I think we all know we are about to get a shed load better.

Ameobi not too bad. He says he thought our youngsters were better than Man City's youngsters, esp. Sanderson

Though they can be disruptive for clubs, really does feel like this tour has been a real positive for us. Might be tough next week but all in all the club are going to be very pleased with what we have taken from it.

Some good performances all round. Traore actually looked quite competent in our shape from about 15 minutes on, and he made some good runs forward (and actually some off the ball).

Most of the kids did pretty well, I liked the look of Terry Taylor, and Cundle was very tidy on the ball. Perry looked knackered after about ten minutes of being on the pitch, having got into some good positions going forward which he couldn't make the most of. Sanderson played well individually but he's no wing back, but could see him being a pretty good centre back.

Rui what a man!

This was essentially our home pre-season game a week before we start. Not likely to be disruptive in that respect.

Vinagre brilliant, as fucking always. I dont dislike troare, unkike most on here, but for the life of me I cannot understand why nuno refuses to move jonny on the right, start vinagre and have traore as the sub. If hes not the worlds best lb in his age group, hes atleast top 3.

Well, I thought that was pretty good. Two games, two clean sheets. And it may only be a friendly trophy, but it's a trophy & a big step forward in China. Terry Taylor is the pick of the kids for me, but what the hell do we do about Vinagre? Clearly good enough for a season in the PL. I'd be intrigued to see him play as the left sided forward in a 3-4-3

Fosun in China must look at this and tell Jeff, spend the fucking Money, and whatever it costs keep nuno!!!!!!!

In a game like this where wing-backs would be mostly defending, it made more sense for Traore to go up front with Jota kind of like when we put Bright up front in the League Cup game, which caused them all sorts of problems.

We know Johnny can play RWB, if Traore is to play there he needs all the minutes he can get

Exactly. You have to learn the information about players. Rather today with a trophy in the cabinet. Good time for a lesson.

It was possibly one of the worst penalty shootouts I've ever seen but I was far more excited than I should have been about winning :icon_lol:

This. If we are thinking of using him there as back up to Doc then we have to see how he does. We did it with Saiss at RCB last preseason.

Have to say I was impressed with his work rate, got caught a couple of times but one of them was when Benno went walk about and its against City who will find gaps no one else can see.
