Wolves 0-3 Man City: Verdict Thread

Just seen the highlights. Jonny outmuscled for the first. No excuses for Kilman and Sa on the second, Neves Coadyesque on the third. People on Twiiter are genuinely trying to say the Collins foul isn't a red.

Collins also partly at fault for 2nd getting pulled out wide when he doesn’t need to. Kilman then doesn’t react and shuffle over leaving Haaland in the space.

How anyone can say it’s not a red is beyond me. The thing is, it wasn’t even in a dangerous position. Total rush of blood to the head.

Of course it was a red, Dias's challenge in the second half on Hwang (?) was very close to being as bad though, and he didn't even get a yellow.

It didn't have the recklessness, it was a yellow though. On balance I quite liked the way Taylor refereed the game. He let a lot go both ways, only that lack of a card and a foul on Moutinho at the South Bank end at 0 2 I'd quibble with from my vantage point

Well one is playing as a traditional winger on the wrong side and the other is to play as an inside forward. Inside forwards generally play inverted, wingers don't.
My point is though I don’t think that’s what he’s being asked to do. He’s doing all sorts but nothing is coming off. He comes inside and runs into bodies or smashes it into shins, he goes on the outside and he’s not going past anyone with the regularity he was and that’s on either side. As with all of out attacking players he’s making bad decisions wherever he’s played.

So you simplify the game for him

Yeah, i thought he was decent overall.

I felt a bit embarrassed for Neves with how vehemently he was arguing that Collins shouldn't have been sent off, likewise with Collins himself.

It hasn’t mattered this season whichever side he’s played on his decision making has been the biggest issue apart from the lack of explosiveness. Done a couple of good things, pass for the disallowed goal against Newcastle from the left, ball out to Guedes from the right side for the goal etc…

I also don't think Netos issues are down to which side he's playing, lad is just woefully out of form and severely lacking in any confidence.

Think it's pretty revisionist to claim anything close to perfection from the inside forwards' usage under Nuno. It was an almost ever present complaint after promotion that the front three didn't play close enough together, just like they don't now.

Honestly. Frickin Nuno. I wish we’d just get rid.
