I speak with a lot of people who do not admit to voting for him, but who do blame the left for all the partisanship in today's society. A lot of working class (white) families feel betrayed by the democrats - whose focus has moved to social justice and political correctness. It is no different to England. Plus the perception that the left wants to take god out of schools worries a lot more people than you might think.

These people will likely stay loyal to trump until persuaded otherwise by leaders they admire and respect (ie not Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell etc).
