The Wolves 3 Arsenal 1 verdict thread.

If anyone knows where I can watch highlights, or even the full game back (youngwolf, I'm looking in your direction!) please let me know, even by pm. I was out watching Terry Hall get the hump and refuse to do an encore.

Really pleased to see the plaudits for Bennett. Had a lot of debates with people saying he can't pass, which makes me wanna say FFS.

Also Boly probably 'hoofed' it more than Bennett yesterday.

Penalty was a strange one. Bennett isn’t looking at Lacazette and Laca knows he just needs to nip in front. He does that and goes down too easily but there is “contact”. However he’s absolutely playing for it with no intention of playing the ball.

Depends where you stand on blatant gamesmanship. Clever play or cheating

Maybe I'm being picky. Watching him, if he'd put himself about a bit more the last 10 minutes could have been a lot less nervy. I just wish we could make him work.

I would say you are being picky. The lad was on for 10 mins in a game that was dead and where we were happy to let them have the ball as they were doing fook all with it. The final few mins were only nervy in our heads. Watch back the game from the point Arsenal score and it was anything but nervy.

I missed the first half of the game yesterday since I had a big presentation to give at work, and this is going to sound made up but...

The guy doing the A/V work ended up being an Arsenal fan. Which was amusing because 1) he said he'd never met a wolves fan before, 2) we both got to check the score afterward together. :icon_lol:

He went in front of Bennett and then stopped so Bennett ran into him - my impression was that that was what the ref said to him - no intent from the arsenal guy to get the ball, just to initiate contact.

That's the YW one. If you ever just want a collection of the goals then Reddit Soccer is good. Most prem goals get uploaded within a few mins of happening, and the most favoured and hyped go to the top. Neves was top last night. His crazy goal from a year ago was huge on there, lot of love from Portugal of course. (You may well use Reddit as know a lot on here do but it's there any way)

You could well be right. I was nervy as hell after they scored and had a horrible feeling of impending doom like I haven't had for a long time.

they were pretty funny in that thread

All hail Rúben Snow of house Wolverhampton, the Portuguese wolf, Lord commander of the midfield, king beyond the free kick wall!

And now 4senal watch has ended

Fresh in our heads of throwing away a lead doesn't help and the majority in the Stadium would have been nervous but in reality there was nothing to be nervous about. Arsenal showed no urgency to even try and score a 2nd. So slow in getting the ball into our area which allowed us to hold our shape and keep it tight but at the time we aren't concentrating on that just the FT whistle

yep

Pm me a paypal or a link on amazon to the beer you want and an address to send it and it will be done tomorrow. Well deserved!

I'm sorry Cyber but I can't do that. It was a friendly "bet" and when you come to your next Wolves game look me up (I'm easy to find if I'm actually there) and we can have a beer and a chat :beerchug: :burp:

If your not there than I'll take it in lieu for you. Essentially Cyber, pre Xmas I get the beer but after that Darlo will find some form and put together a good streak of games! ;)

Some thoughts on the game last night.

I dont think it was a pen, lacazettewas heading away from goal and across Bennett think he was playing for it (he also could well have been offside).

I thought Arsenal had great interchange around the box but nothing else, no passes through us, no wing play and no defensive quality at all.

Even when they scored I didn't feel nervy, I felt they were never going to score a 2nd,never mind a 3rd!

More than happy to oblige!

Next time you have a spare ticket its mine and the beers on me OK?

Not a problem at all Cyber, I look forward to meeting you

I've re watched the last ten minutes, and you're right. Everything Arsenal did looked so much quicker on the night, we were never really in danger. Adama was unlucky with that ball through to Cav being blocked.
