The Wolves 3 Arsenal 1 verdict thread.

Seeing the replay this morning we were lucky with the penalty shout for the foul by Benno on Lacazette. Lacazette probably did himself out of it by throwing himself down by definite contact from Bennett

And also a word about the ridiculous pass under pressure from Ryan Bennett out to the left flank. Stop it, Ryan :icon_lol:

Sort of came from nowhere. Thinking Nuno has had words with him again and said you really need to work on those sort of passes as otherwise your game is great

I thought that was a penalty at the game - said at the time it looked blatant.

Don't think Patricio can be blamed for the goal. Very good delivery by Xhaka, in swinging into a dangerous area at pace, hard to deal with.

Yeah looked a stonewall penalty to me. We got away with that one!

About time Attwell was on our side

Yeah I thought that watching live - benno has a little tug on Lacazette's arm. Minimal, but you see them given.

Overall, I thought the ref did well last night, let the game flow and was aware of Arsenal looking for soft FK's/peno's once they went behind.

I could only stand 1.30 secs of that moron saying 'blud' every second word. Fucking delighted for him.

Yeah we really must stop raising the blood pressure of these entitled buggers :xmasbana:

"Jota Hella pace blud"

Benno knees Lacazette in the back of the leg and takes him down. I thought it was a stonewall penalty. He made up for it with 'that' block and some wonderful passing. He's possibly our most improved player this season.

I was impressed with Rui's communication and positioning last night, he makes it all look so easy. No panic and every defender knows where he is and where they should be. Would be very harsh to blame him for the goal, I'd be looking at the marking which wasn't the best.

I was impressed with Guendhouzi when he came on and thought he was the type of sub I'd love us to have. An absolute bargain for £8m and only 20.

Agree with all of that. Penalty was right in front of me, I was amazed it wasn't given.

Thought Nketiah looked good when he came on too, caused us quite a few problems.

I think he was offside when Bennett took him out, which he did.

Looked inline with me. Lacazete is very good at timing his runs, the arsenal midfield was just gash at using him.

Yeah he was offside

It was an outstanding performance, but we still need to talk about Adama

2 good moments. One where he kept possession well then another where he won a free kick very very late one and 1 poor moment where he should have passed but gave it way near the half way line (and should have got a free kick near the end as well). Not a lot to talk about really

The one where he gave it away Cav would've been in if Adama got it out his feet.

He doesn't seem capable of observing and moving at the same time. Time and time again he wasn't closing players down which with his acceleration pace, he should be able to do with ease. Maybe I'm being picky. Watching him, if he'd put himself about a bit more the last 10 minutes could have been a lot less nervy. I just wish we could make him work.

Mrs HW said it was the worst Arsenal performance she has ever seen.
I even felt a little sorry for her (but not too much!).

Just a brilliant evening.

He did some closing down with Cav, then a few bits where he sort of stood about and let Cav press on his own. If you've just brought on 2 fresh strikers for 10 mins you'd want them to constantly chase shadows if that's what it takes, right?

Otherwise as Kenny said he did have a couple of good moments, a nice pass which I didn't expect. And one poor moment where he tried to break and Arsenal ended up with the ball coming at us.

.

thats exactly what i wanted to see him do. As I said, I specifically watched him and not the action when he came on, and to be honest, at time he looked like he was conserving energy.
