The Summer 2018 Transfer Thread

Starting to sound like nothing's doing, according to Sky.

Ah well. Wish we'd have got in a wing back (fucking Zinchenko screwing us over), but it's been the most successful transfer window for as long as I've been following this stuff regardless.

Wouldn't mind Moses strolling through the doors in an hour, mind!

Ah Paddy I think you've been Whooshed.

Going to be a few ITK's with egg on face come 5 O'clock I think. Maybe it was a big tent after all.

???

I watched Kaveh say the exact line myself. Let's hope he knew nothing because I would be ecstatic if we got him.

On The BBC reporting Dendoncker's interview he states he's a midfielder, but can defend so will play where he is wanted by Nuno.

This I guess means Nuno has suggested he will play CB

Hmmmm

Well as Guy Mowbray's name is, hold the front page, Guy Mowbray, excuse me for missing that moment of comic genius.

Let's not oversell Victor Moses here, he did a surprisingly effective job for Chelsea in 2016/17, was pretty poor last season and while he's better than Doherty in terms of delivery, it's not by that big a margin. He's also a diving shitbag.

It was really Guy Mowbray that Glasgo was talking about? Well that totally fucked my joke up then.

Damn - and there was me assuming he was. The error is easy to make. Bugger.

Wolves have reportedly made a late €11m bid for Brazilian Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza. [Source: Milliyet]

I think you're underselling a bit, to be honest- he might not hit it all the time, but his threshold is MILES over what Doherty gives us in the position on his best days.

Also, Moses + Doherty in competition is surely better than Doherty alone.

He's a defensive minded CM anyway, Neves and Moutinho will start in the 2 positions, we also have Saiss - Dendoncker can play there and as a 5th option we still have MGW. Can't see us signing de Souza.

Oh, I'd take him. I don't want Doherty in the team if we can help it. Let's just not pretend it's like signing peak Cafu.

There's definitely more important strengthening needed than in central midfield. It's just wingback we're a bit light on, that's it.

I'm just waiting for the 16:59 tweet from Wolves and it's just a career in pictures post.

Skysports just claiming we have interest in Moses

Tim I, SBR etc taking down the marquee by now i would imagine.

We’re a wingback short of a perfect window imo and although it’s not ideal we have Vinagre who can cover both sides as if Doherty gets injured the Jonny will move over to the right. Would obviously have preferred a Doherty upgrade but I’m confident we’ll have a very good season.
