It’s the overarching pattern. I doubt any owners have said “he’s Black! Obviously not smart enough for the job”, but the fact remains that Black coaches are passed over at an alarming rate vs. Whites.Sounds like the sort of shit that goes on behind the scenes in most teams and hiring practices. Not sure why it's racist tbh. I'm sure plenty of guys have been interviewed with the team knowing full well which guy they actually want.
I am DYING for New Orleans to hire him after this.Flores is one of the final three candidates for the Texans, but presumably he would not file this suit if he thought he was likely to get the job.
The NFL won't want a troublemaking HC (uppity ni**er) so this must make it less likely he gets hired by any team, unless he thinks that the bad publicity for the NFL might pressure Goodell into persuading someone to hire him.
It's racism and everyone knows it's racism, but proving it in a court of law is another matter entirely.
Good luck to him.
I think this goes beyond race, it's just corrupt. McCown has nothing to suggest he can coach. That's a joke appointment and disrespectful to everybody who coaches at any level. It's the same shit I was riled up about when Pirlo got the Juve job, or Lampard at Chelsea.
At that level, it's such bald faced nepotism that it boggles the mind that we allow it.
McCown I think could be a good coach some day, but for Houston to have him as their favorite when you still have the likes of Jim Caldwell, Brian Flores, Raheem Morris, Byron Leftwich, etc etc, all awaiting that call... It's really hard to defend or excuse the fact that it happens time and time again.
