The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

They have sacked Lopetegui , but they haven't sacked him .

They are openly speaking to Graham Potter about replacing JL , and yet he is still in place .

One way or the other JL s time there have been a huge disappointment given the status that he held himself with . He did well to get us off the bottom of the League to be fair and into a safe place in the table with plenty time to spare .
Losing heavily to Brighton and Arsenal were black marks , but you could perhaps excuse that to some extent .
His treatment of some of our great players and the manner of his exit - there is no coming back from that .

West Ham have postponed his scheduled news conference today though he's still expected to lead training as things stand though that could change amid growing uncertainty over his position

He was happy enough to do the same with Porno when Moyes was still manager.

What goes around

Potter no doubt is making a lot of demands and the way WH have gone about it they'll probably have to meet every one of them.

Potter will potter off to Everton then.
Everton now linked with Allegri....who is also linked with West Ham but he won't join during the season.

Can see why Potter is reluctant to potentially just be a caretaker manager.

Absolutely. He needs a job where he’s got a bit of time. If it goes wrong for him in his next job his reputation will take a big hit.

He also needs to get a job too.

Been ages now?
It’s not like he’s not in demand though and probably still getting paid more by Chelsea than a new club will pay him. He can wait for the right offer and outside the top six he’ll get plenty for a while yet.

The West Ham job involves some performance targets that if met he gets a further 2.5 year deal apparently
