After leaving Juventus, Arthur negotiates with Wolverhampton and Fiorentina
Former Liverpool and Barcelona midfielder will not stay in the Italian team and prioritizes return to the Premier League
Midfielder Arthur should no longer play for Juventus. At the age of 26, he returned to the Italian club, but is on the market looking for a new club. And two teams showed interest, according to ge found out: Wolverhampton, from the Premier League, and Fiorentina.
Arthur is on a list of athletes who are not in Juventus's project for next season. He, defender Bonucci and defensive midfielders McKennie and Zakaria will be traded. The Brazilian's permanence in the Italian team was unlikely even before the end of his loan to Liverpool.
Arthur and the other three players will not travel with Juve to the United States, where the club will carry out pre-season training. The Brazilian, however, hopes to define his future soon. The priority is a definitive negotiation, but a loan with a purchase option is not ruled out.
According to the player's manager, Federico Pastorello, Arthur wants to play for an English team again. Brighton showed interest at the beginning of the year, but Wolverhampton is currently the biggest possibility.
– We are working to return to the Premier League. It is his (Arthur's) will, but it is still too early, unfortunately – declared the agent, in a video released by the Tuttosport newspaper.
Wolves have several players who speak Portuguese, including Brazilians João Gomes and Matheus Cunha and Luso-Brazilian Matheus Nunes. The club is looking for a replacement for Rúben Neves, who was sold to Al-Hilal.
Fiorentina also carried out a survey to hire the Brazilian at the moment, but it appears as a second option. Arthur was on loan at Liverpool last season but played just 13 minutes. He suffered from injuries and was not used by Jürgen Klopp when he was available.
The Brazilian has a contract with Juve until June 2025. He recently declared to the Mundo Deportivo newspaper that he wants to return to having a sequence in a European club to enter again in the dispute for a place in the Brazilian national team.
Arthur arrived in Europe in 2018, signed by Barcelona from Grêmio, but stayed only two seasons in the Spanish team. In 2020, he was sold to Juve for €72 million. In the Italian team, the midfielder made 63 appearances and scored one goal in two years.
