The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

We have a great chippy by us. Round by my parents it was dire for years. Awesome in Fordhouses when I lived there. It's a bit pot luck.

THM - yeah, we had everything but a decent chippy. So coming back for our games and having pie and chips was awesome for me.

Not sure if it is the Chip Shops round this way but I love the thought of having Fish and Chips and when get them..it's a disapointing meal.

I'm never disappointed :)

Where do you usually go?
The only one I can trust is the Miami Fish Bar (down by the Big Pan)

Unless there is a hidden gem the rest are bollocks. 2 by Asda can fook off and one by the church is shite.

The chippies up here are awesome. Never been in a curry house in Scotland that could compare to one down south though.

Guessing Rainbow is one of the ones by the church? They're good for meat/kebabs and the chips are alright but I wouldn't bother with them for anything else.

Then I'd assume Middleton's by the church? Always been pretty naff from my experience.

There's one down the green that's pretty good, think it's just called Green Chippy or something, doesn't tend to stay open very late though which seems a bit odd with a pub just a couple doors down.

The best I can think of round here though is Manor Fish Bar on Park Lane, just up from the Myvod but on the other side of the road, think there's a tanning place, off license and couple other places along there. Always busy there on a weekend evening.

Fish & Chips - one very good one (out of 3) here - though the best ones were when I lived in one of the outlying villages and had a mobile van round every Friday

Best I have had anywhere

Can't get decent fish n chips anywhere round here. Just not the same tasting batter on the fish and the chips are shite. Closest ive found are at a pub called Pipers Pub, only the last time I had them there I was sick and had the runs :(

I have a great fish and chip shop where I live. It converted to a Happy Chef type place now but still serves massive portions and the fish is huge. One fish and a "small" chips can feed two easily. It is £5 for a fish and £1.90 for a small chips though so not cheap by any means. The fish is well worth it though.

You have to stop off at Vinny's on your way home one day/night Bear. All cod are cooked on order and a Large Cod, Medium Chips and Large Mushy Peas will set you back about £7.20. I have an appetite to match most but would never envisage being able to eat it all. It really is a takeaway for two.

Is that the one in Ibstock?

He's never open when I drive past at 2pm.

Today, I had arroz a la Cubana.

Fried chopped pork, adding 2 eggs. Take them out the saucepan. Now fry peeled bananas. A banana, for each person. Now add boiled rice in to the saucepan, a cup full for each person and lightly fry the rice.

Put the fried rice on a plate, eggs on top, fried bananas on the side of the rice. Now add some fried tomato sauce on the top of the fried rice. Use a tomatoe sauce that you would usually use with pasta.

It's a quick meal, without to much preparation.

Bananas, eggs and tomato sauce, :hmmm: not sure about that mix.
