The big change they need is to do away with “clear and obvious”… a mistake is a mistake

Imagine this happening in the Prem:

That’s the sporting director of St. Louis City dunking on his own club.

EDIT: Screencap came out way bigger than I thought. 😅

I think that just substitutes one mistake for another. Jimenez wasn't overturned because it wasn't 'clear and obvious' before that you had Mahrez diving and VAR deciding that the ref had made a mistake when City got a penalty against us. Both were incorrect decisions but coming from opposite interpretations. Both decisions would have been different if refereed at the opposite times

Clear and obvious only exists in the premier league. It automatically sets a higher bar than the rest of world football for VAR to intervene with the on-field decision. THAT is the fucking issue. Webb knows it. He also should at least be suspicious that Riley brought it in to cover the incompetence of his goon squad.

I live in hope that FIFA wade in and outlaw the UK VAR use of clear and obvious. Popcorn for me at that point.

Cardiff suing Nantes for £100 million over Emile Sala, they want their money back that they paid for him, and further consequential losses according to their owner, who then goes on to say “ it’s not a figure we’ve just plucked out the air, our lawyers decided on the amount”

That will hopefully get laughed out of court and a massive court award of costs in favour of Nantes. The Cardiff owners are making themselves look the biggest cunts in football which is a mighty high bar.

Seriously doubt anything will come of this or they're just opening a minefield with regards overspending.

it's the mail. it's bullshit.
nothing ever happened regardiung west hams shennanigans, and nowt will come of this either.

Southampton's lawyers would be just taking their money off them. How could they even build a case?

Only the team finishing in 18th would have a clear case. 19th and 20th it would be very hard to argue that what Everton did made a difference (unless Everton had taken six points off both and then finished in 16th with a team in 17th who finished less than six ahead who had taken nothing from their games with Everton - which is such a huge stretch it would get laughed at).

The point of this sabre rattling is clearly a nudge to the league to get on with it and dish out the points deduction.

Any punishment will be appealed anyway thus delaying implementation.
Regardless Everton are dealing in low level signings, Freebies, loans and youth development for a long while.

Toney suspended from all football activity for 8 months with immediate effect and fined £50k

Out until January works out as about 21 PL games next season.

Up to and including 16th January 2024

Permitted to return to training only with Brentford from September 2023

Pitiful fine for Forest, how much did we get fined for our players "missbehaving"?

Obviously we don't know the details, but if he's just been putting an acca on every Saturday then that seems really harsh. If he's been betting on things he can influence then fair enough
