I think the T20I scores are acceptable for the role he’s being asked to play. 1in 3 average of getting the team a good start.

The ODIs less so as in the longer white ball format it’s not just quick 40s that build a platform. He needs to go on and be scoring 60/70+ with a similar regularity in this length innings. He’s done it a couple of times only in the last three years and both were in the turkey shoots against the Dutch
